“So this is awkward. Paid someone for some freelance work in USDC and they apparently looked up my address and now they’re asking questions about my wallet balance.” A CT influencer shared a screenshot of a Reddit user recounting their experience with a freelancer late last year This Reddit user paid a freelancer for services offered and the freelancer traced the wallet. Not only did they check out the wallet balance, but they also went ahead to ask the sender (the Reddit user) why there’s so much USDC sitting in that wallet 🧵

I don’t know about you but that gave me the chills, because let’s face it, it could be you Tomorrow, you can decide to run a giveaway and someone would DM you narrating your wallet balance, all because they’ve been able to track your onchain history You typically don’t think much of it until one day it hits you - every transfer you make is traceable, your account is a mobile billboard, and every move you make onchain can be monitored It’s basically you holding up a cardboard, standing by the roadside and showing everyone how much you’ve got in your account But it doesn’t have to be the case, not with @BungeeExchange Incognito anyways and I’d know this because I gave it a spin myself…more below (Btw this 👇 is the screenshot of the Reddit user’s complaint)

Like the Reddit user, we all want to keep transacting on the chain we’re already familiar with, not “some random privacy chain nobody’s heard of,” and that’s why Bungee Incognito on Solana (one of the most active blockchains in the industry) makes perfect sense While Bungee has integrated with multiple chains, my thread explores using the Incognito mode while bridging from an EVM chain to Solana Bungee Incognito is a newly introduced feature and it went live on Solana earlier this month Walk with me… x.com/BungeeExchange…

So I tried swapping, bridging & sending to a friend’s wallet. I wanted to see if my friend could trace my wallet address through that transaction I had some USDC on Monad and sent it to my friend’s Solana wallet; so I bridged, swapped & transferred all in one transaction Here’s how: → I went to the website bungee.exchange & connected my Rabby wallet → Ensured the “Go Incognito” button was toggled on. You’ll see that notice that says “recipient address is required for Incognito Swap” → I selected the chain I was sending from (Monad) and the token (USDC). Then I input the amount (tested with $100) → After that, I selected the chain I was sending to (Solana), the token (USDC) and then pasted my friend’s Solana wallet address as the recipient → After verifying all the details, I made the swap and confirmed

It took about 7 mins and he confirmed he had received the USDC. Then I asked if he could try tracing where the money came from He searched his address on Solscan, found the transaction since it was the most recent but he couldn’t see the actual address it was sent from True, the transaction hash shows details like the token sent, amount transferred, fees paid, the timestamp, etc, proving that the transaction indeed happened However, it broke any link to me by obscuring my address and replacing it with “Binance 2” so he couldn’t tell which address the USDC was sent from. In other words, he wasn’t able to track me thanks to Bungee

Safe to say that the Reddit user would have avoided the encounter he had with the freelancer if he had known about @BungeeExchange Incognito Privacy is not a trend; it’s an undeniable necessity and it’s no surprise that many top voices like Vitalik and Mert have expressed support for privacy tools and builders developing privacy-focused apps

Private transactions matter because it means; * you can send funds on Solana and across other chains without fear of being tracked * Vitalik can transfer or sell his token without CT going after him * an influencer can ape into a memecoin without people tracking his wallet * you can swap between tokens without someone monitoring you You have a choice! The question is, how much do you care about your privacy? You can check out Bungee Incognito yourself: bungee.exchange
