Your subconscious made a decision about you before you turned 7. Not you. A child. A child who had no idea what was happening and just needed to survive the room they were in. And you've been living that decision ever since. Most people don't see it. They think they're choosing. They wake up, set the intention, say this time is different. But the conscious mind is not running the show. It never was. It's the subconscious that decides. And the subconscious hasn't updated its files in thirty years. Every time you get close to something good and then blow it up. That's not you being weak. Every time you shrink in a room where you should be loud. That's not your personality. Every time you almost make it and then somehow don't. That's a program. Running exactly as designed. And here's the part that actually hurts. Those beliefs were never yours to begin with. They came from a parent who was scared. A teacher who said the wrong thing on the wrong day. A moment at age 6 where something happened and your brain wrote a rule to protect you from it ever happening again. You didn't choose any of it. But you've been paying for it every day since. So here's what nobody actually tells you. That code can be rewritten. Not with motivation. Not with a vision board on your bathroom mirror. With repetition. With boring, daily, unsexy work that your brain will fight you on every single morning. Here's where to start. For the next 7 days write down the exact words your inner voice uses when you feel resistance. Not a summary. The actual words. You cannot rewrite a program you have never read. Then take that belief and turn it into a question. Not an affirmation. A question. "What if I'm actually capable of this?" Questions get through. Statements get blocked. The subconscious has a defense system and it is very good at its job. Do one thing every day that the old belief says you can't. Small. Specific. The same thing if you need to. The subconscious updates through evidence not through intention. And use the 10 minutes before you fall asleep. That window is the most open your brain will be all day. Read your questions out loud. See the version of you who already changed. Your brain will work on it all night whether you tell it to or not. Most people will read this and feel something for about 20 minutes. Then the old program boots back up. And they tell themselves they'll start tomorrow. Your subconscious is listening right now. Taking notes on what you do next.
