2/ The title alone hit me harder than I expected. ARIRANG isnât just a word. Itâs one of the most emotionally loaded songs in Korean history.
3/ Arirang has always been about separation, endurance, pride, and return. Choosing it immediately reframes this comeback as something inward, not just global.
4/ Thatâs especially striking because Korea hasnât always treated BTS gently. Theyâve been celebrated, scrutinized, used, politicized, and dragged through moral panics.
5/ And yet BTS never distanced themselves from being Korean. They didnât neutralize it. They carried it with them, openly and consistently.
