“What did I just say about two of you talking or being alone with each other before marriage?!” Taehyung groans, closing his eyes. Jungkook sighs, looking over at a frowning Namjoon. “I'd remember if I ever paid attention to whatever you blabber about,” Jungkook gives the man a stiff smile. Taehyung bites back a laugh and looks at Namjoon, “hyung, I am going. Can you calm down?”

“I am not saying this for myself,” Namjoon comes to take a hold of Taehyung's hand, “this is a custom. Can you kids please follow it?” “My apologies, your highness,” Jungkook gives a small bow, then he looks at Taehyung, “I'll see you-” “After the wedding!” Namjoon almost drags Taehyung with him.

“So who's going to marry him at the wedding?” Jungkook calls after them. He smiles wide when he hears Taehyung giggle. The omega's voice floating to him. Jungkook shakes his head with a fond smile and turns away. He returns to his room to see Dianna and Soobin are already there. With racks and racks of clothes they point at for him to try out for the wedding.

ᯓᯓ The day passes in a blur for Taehyung. Seokjin and Hoseok linger around him with too many clothes to try on. Too many jewelleries. There are people coming and going, asking him about his taste in things Taehyung never really paid enough attention to. He is struggling to put on a robe when he looks over at Hoseok, “did you ask Chim what he wants for his wedding suit?”

The smile on Hoseok's face dims and he shrugs, focusing on pinning the material falling down Taehyung's shoulder. “He is resting,” the shifter whispers while working, “I do not know what he'd like. That is not my responsibility,” he carefully picks another pin, “I'm sure Jungkook would take care of those details for him.”

Taehyung opens his mouth to ask what Hoseok means by that but it's at that moment that Dianna walks in with a few more boxes of necklaces. She smiles, hugging Taehyung from the back while praising his looks. She forces him to sit in front of the mirror so she can check which necklace looks good on him. Taehyung sneaks a glance at Hoseok who smiles at Dianna and his words get lost in his mind.

“Which one would you like Jungkook to wear?” Dianna's eyes sparkle with happiness. Taehyung eyes the necklaces while his face warms up, “maybe, this one?” he traces a diamond, three-tier necklace, “it'd look good on him.” Dianna hums, “listen,” she hands over the necklace to a maid, “take this to the king's chamber. Tell him his luna chose this for him.” Taehyung's breath catches in his chest. Jungkook's luna... he blows out a deep breath, trying to focus on whatever Dianna asks him next.

ᯓᯓ Taehyung knocks on the door three times. When no one answers, he enters anyway. The room is dark, except for the open window. Jimin sits on the settee beside the window, looking outside with a shawl wrapped around him. “It's dark in here,” Taehyung looks around, “why didn't you open all the windows?”

Jimin looks over at him with a small smile, “it gets too cold then,” he winces when he tries to move, “I am still recovering from the mating fever.” Taehyung walks closer, sitting beside the omega, “I dropped by to ask which suit you picked for the wedding.” Jimin looks lost for a second before he seems to understand what Taehyung said, he chuckles, “Jin hyung said he'll take care of it all for me. I'd let him.”

Taehyung frowns, “but, at least choose the accessories...” Jimin looks at the window again, “this is my second wedding, Tae. The first one was in haste. I just took the vows and then got carried away to that kingdom,” his throat bobs, “I do not see why the second one will be any different. Also...” he closes his eyes, “people will talk if I dress up too much or try to look as glamorous as a new groom because they'll talk about how shameless I am. You know. I didn't want this wedding to be such a huge deal.”

Taehyung takes Jimin's hand in his, ignores how warm it is, “we'd make sure no one opens their mouths about you. I promise.” Jimin squeezes his hand with a small smile, “you cannot stop gossip, Tae. It slips past your fingers like sand. Anyway,” he tries to smile wider, bring excitement in his voice, “tell me about your suit. What are you wearing? How are you feeling? Tell me everything.” Taehyung hears the desperation in Jimin's voice to change the subject and so he follows.

ᯓᯓ Jungkook knocks on the door three times and Hoseok opens it. Jungkook walks past him without sparing him a glance. Yoongi looks over at him, “what is it?” Jungkook gestures for the maids to place all the trays near the king's feet, “I brought the gifts.” “Gifts...?” Yoongi eyes the trays, “what gifts?”

Namjoon walks inside and pauses, watching the trays and Jungkook. Jungkook sighs, “reveal them.” The maids pull off the clothes that hid the trays. Namjoon and Hoseok stare at them and Yoongi frowns harder. “This is all the gold and silver,” Jungkook murmurs, “also, the treaty and that paper is for the lands you'll get for the wedding...”

“Are you taking all these to marry Tae, too?” Yoongi blinks at everything at his feet. Jungkook's jaw hardens, “no!” he balls his fists, “but, we are different.” Yoongi arches a brow, “oh, so you think I need more lands or,” he scoffs, gesturing at the trays, “two trays of gold coins?” a laugh bubbles out of Yoongi, “is that your hyung's worth or something? I am confused.”

“Namjoon said it's a custom,” Jungkook speaks through his gritted teeth, “you can do anything with it. Namjoon took what Jin hyung's father gave and kept it under Jin hyung's name.” Yoongi rubs a hand down his face and shakes his head, “everything I own will be under my spouse's name. I do not need these 'gifts' for that,” he waves his hand, “take these away. I am not accepting such gifts. Thank you.”

Jungkook looks at Namjoon, “you told me to do this.” Namjoon fumbles, “this is a custom!” Yoongi looks at Namjoon, “well, I am not about to buy his hyung. What is wrong with you?” “This is not about buying!” Namjoon throws his hands in frustration, “this is our tradition-” “Which comes from a very wrong place,” Yoongi counters, “and you know it!”

Jungkook lets out a sigh, “well, every tradition is not worth carrying forward, I shouldn't have to 'gift' anything for him to marry my hyung but I did because you said.” Namjoon curses, “this is what I get for narrating what normally happens?! These are things you can keep for your spouse to use! As I said, gifts!” Jungkook rolls his eyes, “I am giving my hyung to him. That's literally the biggest gift I can offer and I am. So...”

“Is this what I get for trying to uphold our family values?” Namjoon glares at them both, “I didn't force you two to follow these rules. I just told you two about it!” Yoongi shakes his head, “I don't need these things. I already have too big of a kingdom, and I certainly do not need two trays of gold. I spend more on my stables. Thank you.” Jungkook looks at Namjoon, “and I also don't need those necklaces you sent. It feels like a rope tying around my throat, by the way.”

“But it is a custom,” Namjoon insists, “so maybe you four can gift something to each other?” he winces when three pairs of eyes turn to him, “just anything! Oh, my god! Just... for the sake of the custom!” “I'm getting a headache,” Yoongi gets up, “I'll go for a walk.” “I'll think about it,” Jungkook looks at the trays and sighs, “now I need to check out the guest list. Why do we have to invite so many people?!”

“You didn't give me your guest list,” Jungkook stops Yoongi. Yoongi shrugs, “Hoba and that's it,” he gives Jungkook a tight smile, “that's my guest list.” Jungkook's jaw hardens, “you better be cordial to hyung during the wedding. I'll keep an eye on you.” Yoongi scoffs, “if during your own wedding, your eyes linger on me, Jungkook,” he pats Jungkook's chest before walking past him, “that's on you.”
