Schocken and many of its editors have long espoused deep anti-Zionist views, desires for Zionism to "collapse" and lauded Palestinian terrorists as freedom fighters–as Schocken did in 2024. He backtracked when called out but this world view permeates every issue. 2/
Here is one of the current editors who wrote "In the collapse of Zionism, we shall find solace." Should someone who writes this be considered a trusted journalist on issues related to Israel? 3/
These types of comments and world views go way back. In Nov 2023 I documented how Haaretz fabricated the quote “The emphasis is on damage and not on accuracy” and misrepresented what Hagari said. In Feb 2025 I documented how Haaretz published a "genocide" piece that was filled with fabricated quotes, which of course passed through Haaretz's non-existent "fact checking."
