This is Bill Perkins. He's worth 100s of millions, a hedge fund manager, poker player, asymmetric thinker... And my smartest mentor. Steal his 7 principles on how the rich think differently:

1. You Have ZERO Risk Most people are afraid of risk because their egos canât stand looking like an idiot. I remember being slightly mind-f*cked by Bill's idea that educated people have no actual financial risk. Listen to him explain it here:

2. Donât Get Attached To Your Ideas You need people in your life to give you a reality check from time to time. One time at Billâs house, I was in the midst of sharing a new business idea when he interrupted me to ask: "Has small infected your thinking?"

3. Faster You Move, More $ You Make Rich people arenât smarter than you, theyâre FASTER. By the time their competition is taking step one, theyâve: - Failed 4 times - Lost a shit ton of money - And figured out a better path

4. If Youâre Not Failing, Youâre Not Trying Bill once lost $10M on a failed energy project in El Salvador. Didnât bat an eye. Because he knows, NOT trying is the only true failure. The âshortcutâ to success is to learn what failure looks like, then avoid it next time.

5. Fire Yourself Know your strengths + know your goals. If you want one pizza parlor, you can be the guy who makes the pizza. If you want to be Pizza Hut, you can't. Hire people that are better than you and then get out of their way.

6. The Peak Utility of Time Successful people are OBSESSED with how they spend their mental energy. Ruthlessly eliminate anything below your hourly rate. You can't buy time, but you can buy back your focus.

7. Money Is Worthless If You Don't Use It Bill's book "Die With Zero" seriously changed my perspective on this stuff. The main takeaway? Use your money while you can still actually enjoy it.

When your friend is a billionaire, you listen when they talk. Thanks for letting me share a bit of Bill's wisdom with you.
