Initially, I wanted to write an article about this following the defeat of the #BAMTC in China. Here is a thread of my initially outlined ideas informing my suggestion for the next course of action. 🧡 x.com/craigansibin/s…

1. Straight-to-the-point suggestion: Encourage national-indie collaboration. Lee Zii Jia, FeiDin, and Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie are exemplary figures from the Indies. Being the top-ranked players, they have lots to offer, alongside simultaneous and mutual improvement.

2. Diplomatic collaboration: Coaches like Tan Bin Shen, Wong Choong Hann, and Jeremy Gan are currently coaches in Hong Kong. They know us well, reading most of us like a book. It is a strategic collaboration to explore mutual growth with Team HK, understanding the differences.

3. BAM x PBSI Pearly/Thinaah sparred together with some Indonesian players previously before the Olympics if I'm not mistaken. The result turned out well. Despite the rivalry, a BAM x PBSI collaboration with joint training & cultural exchange is equally beneficial for growth.

4. Cai Yun as a reference Why Cai Yun? The legendary figure has made impressive commentaries, frequently pointing out the strengths and weaknesses not only for CBA but also occasionally others. Even if unrelated to BAM, his points and experiences on RedNote are useful guides.

5. Increased WT Participation Obviously, the differences between our top players and second-liners are just too great. Increasing frequent participation for the second-liners in IC/IS, S100, and S300 levels is the key to further improvement alongside continuous exposure.

6. Yearly BAM President's Cup CBA has frequent intra-tournament held to strengthen relationships, camaraderie, skills, and performance among their players. The President's Cup should be held annually between the national squad and the Indies to achieve the same objective.

7. Lifelong Contribution from Retired Legends Although retired, legendary figures - Datuk Lee Chong Wei, Tan Boon Heong, Koo Kean Keat, Chan Peng Soon, Goh Liu Ying, Woon Khe Wei etc. have had tremendous experience. Frequent interaction sessions as role models can boost morale.

~End of Thread~ 🧡 I am no expert, but the thread is done based on my understanding and exposure of the badminton world from other countries, hence, my own opinions. Hopefully, they are sound, and they can be adapted for continuous improvement for the national and indies teams.
