Here’s my response to anyone who claims that full-spectrum sunlight, particularly UV light in that context, is harmful to the skin Bookmark and share this thread

The following pictures showcase the lost faces of history, highlighting the raw, regenerative power of full-spectrum sunlight on the skin barrier These pictures were taken in the early 1900s through the work of Dr. Auguste Rollier But first, some context

Dr. Auguste Rollier was a Swiss physician and pioneer in heliotherapy (sun therapy) during the early 20th century He specialized in treating tuberculosis of the skin, particularly lupus vulgaris, using controlled exposure to sunlight Rollier founded a sanatorium in Leysin, Switzerland, where patients underwent sunbathing sessions combined with fresh air, a healthy diet, and rest

He observed remarkable improvements in his patients, attributing the therapeutic effects to sunlight’s ability to stimulate the immune system, improve circulation, and promote vitamin D synthesis His success helped establish heliotherapy as a respected medical treatment during his time

You might question how this is possible, but it makes sense when you consider a few of these points: 1. The skin is a circadian organ, which evolved under the direct influence of the sun’s full spectrum Your skin contains mitochondria, non-visual photoreceptors, and melanin These are all light-sensing mechanisms which require direct sunlight exposure

2. Every light wavelength from the sun works in favor of the skin barrier Red & infrared = make collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid within the skin UV-A and blue light = destroy the bacteria responsible for acne UV-B = supports keratinocyte proliferation, promoting skin repair and regeneration The full spectrum literally heals chronic inflammatory skin conditions, as shown in this thread

3. The centralized scientific research on skin cancer and photoaging is deeply flawed In the late 1970s, corporations like Nestlé and L’Oréal began demonizing sunlight to promote sunscreen and cosmetic sales Research in this field relies on isolated UV studies conducted on nocturnal, albino animals in artificial, blue-lit, and EMF-toxic environments Additionally, the Flexner Report marginalized natural therapies like sunbathing, favoring allopathic treatments instead

4. The results performed through the work of Niels Ryberg Finsen and Dr. Auguste Rollier speaks for itself You don’t need a randomized controlled trial to see what nature does to the skin, especially in a state of chronic disease

These patients were treated in the Swiss Alps at high altitudes, where intense UV light was present Isn’t it fascinating how we’re constantly bombarded with fear-mongering about the skin-damaging effects of ultraviolet light, yet intense UV light has been proven to heal the skin, as these striking examples clearly demonstrate?

Isn’t it odd how dermatologists tell you to avoid the sun or protect your skin from its light, yet they use those very same wavelengths to treat chronic inflammatory skin conditions in their clinics?

I mean, seriously, how do people manage to rationalize the standard narrative in the face of such clear evidence? You can’t point to studies using isolated UV on in vitro cell culture models and ignore the results shown here I just can’t take these types of arguments seriously

When people idolize the reductionist approach to science and treat it like a religion, they fail to recognize what true, holistic science looks like in its proper context That’s what Rollier and Finsen brought to the table. They were wise beyond their years

They didn’t rely on a petri dish to study human cells under an isolated UV lamp, blindly believing that the results would explain how nature works Instead, they worked with real people on the brink of death, exposed them to natural and unfiltered full spectrum sunlight, ensured most of their skin was involved, and carefully analyzed the outcomes of that real-world experiment These men deserve the utmost respect

Did they use sunscreen to heal their tuberculosis? Did they rely on sunglasses? Were they told to stay indoors and live in fear of the very source of all life on this planet? Clearly, that wasn’t the case This alone should demonstrate how we are being misled on a massive scale about the true nature and benefits of sunlight

Full-spectrum sunlight is inherently regenerative for the skin barrier The issues commonly associated with sunlight exposure are, in reality, the result of artificial light exposure, circadian rhythm disruption, sunlight filtered through modern glass, and the use of sunscreen, sunglasses, or isolated UV I don’t care how difficult of a pill that is for you to swallow. It’s the hard hitting truth
