2. You don't have "dreams," you have "goals." Small, powerful reframe. 3. Narrow goals win. If you say you are looking for everything, you will find nothing.
4. Don't write down what you want. Write down what you are willing to give up to get what you want. 5. Skip setting goals and set sacrifices. That is the missing piece to winning. Every one of your goals has a price.
6. “Many problems can’t be solved forward.” –Charlie Munger Instead of thinking about what you DO want, what do you NOT want? 7. What we call overwhelm is often just a lack of prioritization.
8. If an ask doesn’t hit one of your goals (or especially if it hits an anti-goal), it’s a no. Like Steve Jobs said... “Innovation is saying ‘no’ to 1000 things.” 9. Success is contagious. Failure is contagious. So is even trying. Choose your surroundings carefully.
10. How I meet goals in business... 30 day sprints. Pick a problem, set a plan, assign a team, check in daily, report back end of month. Repeat. 11. No one is coming to save you. You want a better life, go build it.
12. Mental masturbation: the single biggest reason most people don't win. You talk about your goals, you think about your goals, you visualize your goals... Instead, just do the work.
13. You can't be upset at the results you’re not getting from the actions you’re not taking. 14. You win by being okay with people not liking you, disagreeing with you, and wishing you'd fail. People pleasing and high levels of success do not mix.
15. To hit big goals, average must be in your rearview. You can't become a 100ft python if you're clinging to garden snake skin. 16. Most highly successful people are not balanced. They're relentless, fast, focused, & less fun. Maybe it doesn't have to be so, but it usually is.
17. Want to find a "high value" partner? Become a high value partner. Greatness attracts greatness. 18. Most successful people I've met aren't that smart. They move fast, they take risk, they work a lot. That's it.
19. Your friends will determine your weight, bank account, happiness, and success more than you want to know. 20. Stop obsessing on those just ahead of you. Start obsessing on those 10 years ahead, and shorten the distance.
21. The most surefire way to hit goals: You say you will do a thing, then you actually do the thing. 90% do not do this. Will you be the 10% this year?
