Jeongguk grabs a bottle and just looks at it. "Want some? It might help with our nerves." Jeongguk says. "I was gonna grab a glass myself." Tae says and walks to him to take the bottle from him. "You take the food, I'll bring the glasses." "Okie dokie"
They end up taking everything to the kitchen table and sit on both sides of it. Taehyung opens the bottle and pours some for them both. He eats a bit of the food and hums happily. It's actually so tasty. Jeongguk watches him take that first bite with intense eyes.
"It's really good, what did you use in it?" Taehyung comments. Jeongguk smiles and looks down to take a bite from his own food too. "Just the right spices." Taehyung hasn't had home cooked meal in so long, he can't help rushing into eating a bit.
Jeongguk eats much slower, watching him with warm eyes. At one point, Taehyung forgets he was even scared just a moment ago. Taehyung tries to be careful with how much wine he is drinking, no matter how much he needs more alcohol in his system.
Jeongguk takes the bottle to pour him more when Tae's glass is empty but Tae stops him. "No, it's enough." "Already?" Guk asks. "I should be a little careful with things like this." Taehyung says. "Did you use to be addicted to it or something?" Guk asks.
"Or something." Tae says, already feeling really warm even if he only had a glass. "You don't trust me enough to tell me?" Guk tilts his head, his eyes looking playful. Jeongguk has been staying with him for a week, helping him despite being a stranger.
Maybe he does deserve just a little bit of answer. "I tried some drugs once, I had a hard time not taking them anymore." Taehyung confesses. "What kind of drugs?" Guk asks. "Whatever I could get. Got me in a lot of trouble, especially at work." "Are you still...?"
"I've been clean for a long time. Alcohol is all I let myself have and even with wine, I try not to overdo it. It was already har enough to stop the first time, even if it was something different." Taehyung says. "You've been very good. You deserve another glass!"
Taehyung is tempted. Honestly, he does deserve another. He has been through so much lately. "Just one more." Tae says. Jeongguk fills his glass. He takes another sip and looks up at Jeongguk. He feels so warm, even a little euphoric.
His cheeks are flushed, giggling for no reason at all. Is it strange that he is feeling like this just from one glass of wine? "You look happy." Jeongguk says. "Must be your food." Taehyung says, resting his head on his arm and tilting it. "Takes a snack to know how to cook one."
He's being unusually bold but he doesn't really think much of it. He's not regretting his words. Jeongguk is hot, why would he try to hide it? Jeongguk chuckles, leaning forward with his arms on the table. "Should be careful not to overcook you though." Jeongguk says.
