New apostolic reformation (NAR) and Bethel are bad news. The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a popular and fast-growing new movement of 'Christians' who emphasize signs and wonders and teach that God is giving new revelation through new apostles and prophets today. Some churches associated with those teachings have even become household namesβ€”you’ve probably heard of the widely influential Bethel Church, for example. NAR has its own translation of the Bible called the passion which they assert Jesus Christ personally commissioned one of their "apostles" to translate. It is focused on regaining what it calls the 7 mountains, which are earthly powers like finance, politics etc to bring about Christian dominion on earth. They believe they are the new prophets and leaders of Christianity in the coming age and are heavily focused on spiritual gifts like prophecy, which they believe is of private interpretation. Remember the "ashbury revival"? That was NAR(Spiritual right, masculine, militant) Bethel is a new age movement with Christian aesthetics. It is one of the largest producers of contemporary Christian music, and aided by radio stations like K-LOVE they dominate the airwaves of Christian worship in and out of churches across North America. It was born in California from the hippy adjacent Jesus movement. They focus on healing and miracles, gifts like tongues are seen as confirmation of the Holy Spirit. The physics of heaven (promoted literature) puts forth that the new age movement got things right that the church didn't and they should be reconciled with Christ. (Spiritual left, feminine, nurturing) Though you would think these groups would he in conflict they actually have a lot of overlap and the same people are behind both. Both groups are focused on what God could do for them today, in their temporal lives, with material abundance. Since they rely heavily on "spiritual gifts" as confirmation of the Holy Spirit any real Christian, who isn't going to fake gifts for acceptance, that comes against them is dismissed as an empty vessel, or worse, an agent of Satan. I can't really recommend for people to go to church in the United States anymore because I'm not certain they will be able to discern (especially if they are new believers) if the church they are going to is compromised or preaching a false gospel. Find other believers in any way that you can. Don't assume just because it's a church that the gospel is being preached, because increasingly this is not the case. Contemporary Christian music is produced by Satan, for all intents and purposes it is secular music, more dangerous even because seeking spiritual meaning is invited and anticipated but there isn't any, which leaves the wicked human heart to get its fill of vanity.
