Yes, everything written in the Bible happened precisely the way it's recorded. Jonah was eaten by a fish, the whole world was flooded, etc. Yes, all the people in the Bible were real historical people just like you and me. Aside from it all being 100% true in the literal sense, all Holy Scripture also has metaphorical interpretation to help us understand God and to navigate life; experience has taught me that believing in the Bible's 'literalness' is essential for wisdom, discernment, and is the next step after fear of God, which is the beginning of all wisdom. I believe that scripture is God-breathed, as such it is perfect and true in all ways. Otherwise, if the Bible is not real and historical, and instead just myths and wise tales, then it is not the Word of God, the Bible would then merely be Aesop's Fables, and we are to be pitied above all men. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. Faith is hope in things unseen, when they are seen it is no longer faith. An integral part of faith is believing God's Word and His ability to maintain it's purity given that He expects us to live by it but also because getting saved is really the only reason we are here. B.asic I.nstructions B.efore L.eaving E.arth I serve a God who is sovereign over creation, thus producing an uncorrupted Bible is a cake walk for Him. He is Truth and all that emanates from Him is Truth. "Well, if it's the truth why are there different versions with sometimes different meanings floating around, and why don't Christians have a universal understanding of the Bible?" 1)the different versions Because the people who have done this have manifested the curse, which is written in the book not once but twice, upon themselves. So that even through their disobedience the Truth and His Word is upheld. False workers separate the wheat from the tares. His sheep know His voice and will not follow a strange call. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 2)the different interpretation of Scripture the Holy Spirit is required to properly divide the Word, people who divide according to the letter, have not the Spirit but many have great knowledge of what is written and because of this have led many astray through their many words and fair speeches. the gospel is simple (1 Cor 15:1-4). False teachings manifest the wheat from the tares. The elect knows His Word intuitively by action of the Holy Spirit and will not fall victim to false teachings For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. x.com/AbbottCostal/sβ¦
