Your money is at risk ๐จ $700M was stolen from users in June. Those who don't secure their capital are one step away from LOSING EVERYTHING. These simple 10 tips will protect your funds ๐งต๐

It's a must-have, yet often overlooked and misunderstood. I've taken the time to explain it to you! I would really appreciate your likes and retweets on this thread. It means a lot to me!

Last month, hackers and scammers stole significant amounts of cryptocurrency. Over $500 million was taken in the first quarter of 2024 through 223 on-chain incidents. Additionally to it, $630 million in user funds have flowed out from OKX this month.

Hackers employ various methods to steal money, including phishing, technical hacking, and social engineering. But despite everything, you should know how you can be scammed and how to protect yourself from it!๐

1 | DeFi Exploits Flash loan attacks and oracle manipulation can drain DeFi protocols. Diversify your DeFi investments and avoid protocols with unaudited or low-liquidity pools.

2 | Check URL Scammers often create fake websites that look authentic, so double-check before connecting your wallet. Always check and bookmark the correct URL of the D'app you're using. Also, I use PocketUniverse extensions to verify links

3 | Fake links A common scam on Discord involves hackers sending you a direct message with a link to a fake page, or a fake continuation of a Twitter thread. Avoid clicking on links from unknown persons and connect there wallet

4 | Clear Approvals Even if you disconnect your wallet, you still need to revoke many approvals. Otherwise, you risk losing your funds. I'm using RevokeCash for this purpose.

5 | ADS Avoid clicking on individual crypto protocol ads, as scammers often place fake ones to outrank legitimate protocols in search results. Always research the protocol thoroughly before investing.

6 | Hot wallets Don't keep absolutely all your money only on Hot wallets like Metamask, Phantom, etc. If you make a mistake, you will lose your funds very quickly. Try to use cold wallets, it's basically the perfect way to protect your savings (Try Ledger, Trezor, Ellipal)

7 | Exchange Hacks Exchanges can be compromised, leading to the loss of funds. To mitigate risk, diversify your savings. Allocate some to cold wallets, some to hot wallets, and some across different exchanges.

8 | Diversification I recommend you to hold your assets on different CEX, different hot wallets, different cold wallets, different devices. That's gonna low a chance of losing everything to almost 0%.

9 | Fake Airdrops Scammers use fake airdrops to trick you into revealing your private keys. Always verify airdrops through official sources, and never share your private keys to claim one.

10 | Dusting Attacks Small crypto deposits might be sent to trace your identity. Ignore these unexpected deposits and use privacy wallets to prevent dusting attacks.
