#dkbk sick kacchan kacchan is never the type to say 'thank you'. most of the time, he'd rather show his appreciation through actions. the most you'd get is probably a 'thanks' in form of a grunt. so izuku never thought he'd hear a soft 'thank you, izuku', coming from him.
kacchan has been sick since the night before and has only gotten worse. he could barely speak because of his sore throat and his temperature was so high they banned him from going to classes. izuku, as persistent as he is, decided to take care of him despite his disapproval.
"im fucking fine !" "piss off shitty nerd !" "i can take care of myself ! don't look down on me !" "i- gimme that damn glass !" "...i wanna stand up." "shit.. it hurts..head hurts.." "i-izukuu here.." "izukuu" eventually kacchan ended up reaching out to him first.
izuku knew it was coming. whenever kacchan is sick, he's extra grumpy and also, extra needy. kacchan might not admit it or even notice it himself but there will be a point where he couldn't act tough anymore, when he finally gave in and accepted his fate to be spoiled.
"yes kacchan." "of course kacchan." "whatever you want kacchan !" "you're doing well kacchan." "i'll get it for you okay ?" "let me do it." izuku would gladly do it all for his sick ( super adorable ) childhood friend.
don't get it wrong, izuku never liked it when kacchan is sick. he couldn't survive way too long without the explosiveness he adored ( fell in love with but he's not ready for that conversation ) but he'd be lying to not admit that kacchan IS cute when he's all docile and needy.
whenever kacchan got sick, Izuku would get to see the side he normally couldn't. soft, whiny, pissy, lovely- "thank you, izuku" okay THAT was new. usually after being taken care of, kacchan would begrudgingly ( lies ) cook for him OR grunted out a 'thanks nerd'
but not today. it's probably the cold season, maybe it's the extra harsh training, whatever it is, kacchan's fever was way more intense than usual. when izuku catches him the moment he tripped, he insisted on carrying the blonde back to his bed.
that's when he heard it. "thank you, izuku" it was uttered so softly izuku would probably miss it if the dim room wasn't so quiet. he was so stunned he couldn't even reply until a full minute later. "y-you're welcome kacchan !!!"
izuku was hoping kacchan was too sick to notice the way his skin burns to crimson and how he practically melted. it's as if his heart burst out of his chest and he had to physically restrain himself from kissing the soul out of his rival. "..'s cold.." the blonde muttered,
pulling him out of his 'future with kacchan' vision where they're married with four kids. "huh ??" "uggh..'s fuckin cold..hold." the blonde sniffled, his blocked nose seems to irritate him enough to yank izuku by the front of his shirt. izuku yelped,
falling flat on top of his lifelong crush. "k-k-kacch-" "..shut up !!! 'r warm.." of course, he froze. his brain was unable to process the fact that kacchan is literally snuggling his chest of all things, not minding that izuku's body is crushing his own.
he only realized what kacchan meant when the boy desperately tried to pull him closer. "wait wait ! let me do it okay ?" "im fucking cold !" "i know, kacchan, let me lay down properly okay ?" he had to bite back a smile when kacchan huffed in defeat.
izuku had to stop himself from squishing those puffed up cheeks when kacchan's lips twisted to form a pout. he immediately pulled himself together, he still had a very sick kacchan to spoil ! he quickly laid on his back, guiding his childhood friend closer to his side.
"i got you, kacchan" he assured, wrapping an arm around the small waist in hopes it'll be enough to comfort his sick kacchan. he's cuddling kacchan. he's cuddling kacchan ? he's really cuddling kacchan and kacchan is cuddling him back ?! "thank you, izuku"
suddenly he's no longer freaking out. "let's get married kacchan." "hah ????"
