Happy Quitter's Day! January 17th is statistically when 80% of people ditch their New Year's resolutions. If that's you, here's the goal-setting system I use that might get you on track:

I call this the Freedom Method. Why? A few years ago, I realized all my New Year's resolutions had 1 thing in common.. They were to give myself more freedom. You start by asking yourself 6 questions:

• What do I REALLY want? - Visualize your dream life. - Describe it in minute detail. - What does the day-to-day look like? My answer in 2017: "I want to profit enough that I choose to work not have to & have more time to create."

• Why do I want it? Describe why this matters so much. My 2017 answer: "I want to allow space for enjoyment, exploration, travel, & creativity, and move forward on a path to financial freedom."

• Do I feel comfortable telling someone else about the goals above? If not, why? If you’re afraid to say it out loud, you’re afraid of being held accountable. Do you think you can't do it? Do you think you're undeserving? Dig deep here.

• What DON'T I want? What would make me angry, sad, etc if I had more of it in my life? Describe it in as much detail as possible. Mine from 2017: "I don't want: To be a private equity investor forever. To be on back-to-back calls all day. To not have time to create."

• What would happen if I didn’t end up achieving these goals? What would my life look like? Am I happy with that? How would I feel about myself in this scenario?

• What's getting in my way of achieving this? - What needs to give? - Why do I think I’ll fail? - Why have I failed in the past?

To really make these stick, there are 2 more final steps... First, answer the above 6 questions for all areas of your life: - Body - Money - Impact - Mindset - Mastery - Spirituality - Relationships

Second, you now have a list of 10+ goals. Narrow it down to 3 only. Start at the bottom & cross them off until you're left with the 3 that matter most. Focus = execution
