Time swap trope where present Haitham is sent back to his Akademiya days to when he was still working on the project with Kaveh…6 months pass as normal in the original timeline, they fall out and…Haitham wakes up again on the fateful day of his first meeting with Kaveh Again
Meanwhile Akademiya Haitham is living out a very peaceful and mundane six months in the present timeline. He’s smugly pleased with how easy it was to deduct that he’d traveled in time, and how much easier it was to do the very easy work of the Scribe at his current abilities.
He’s pleased that the project with Senior Kaveh worked out, if the house he lived in alone right now was any indication of the fruitfulness of their endeavours. Except time stops pushing forward one day and Akademiya Haitham is sent back to a nondescript day 6 months ago. Weird
hngh this plot is so convoluted but in chronological order 1. Haitham is informed of present day Kaveh’s untimely death. 2. It takes him less than a week to find the correct ruin and repair the device which was meant to be capable of sending consciousness back in time
3. Present!haitham goes back too far in time 4. Present!Haitham is back in the Akademiya timeline and without knowing much of the circumstances of what caused Kaveh to die has to try to prevent it from happening, 5 years and 6 months in the future (and Yearn for AkademiyaKaveh…)
5. Each time the timeline resets, Present!Haitham knows he’s failed. He wants to beat up the Akademiya version of himself that’s defs lounging around doing nothing bc this situation is too absurd for him to infer 6. Present!Haitham has no clue how many more chances he has
7. Akademiya!Haitham realises something is weird right after the 1st reset, it takes until the 2nd reset for him to note the absence of Kaveh, he asks around and learning that he and Kaveh are no longer friends, that they fought Again and Kaveh fucked off without a word goodbye
8. Cue Akademiya!Haitham and Present!Haitham trying to anticipate each others moves across time to work together to save Kaveh. 9. ???? Plot ???? 10. Respective Haithams are returned to their respective (alive) Kavehs and their big Akademiya falling out never happened
