#bingjiu au old habits die hard and there is one that shen jiu can never seem to get rid of, a remnant when he was still living on the streets — every mealtime, his body would always seek the comfort of sleep, in hopes to stave off the hunger that he'll inevitably feel

and recently, ever since luo binghe's relationship with his shizun had become better and he moved into the spare room of the bamboo house, had come to notice this which would always leave him slightly annoyed because when his shizun wakes up the food he had cooked would be cold

this happens more frequently and in longer intervals during winter, sometimes shen jiu would even sleep throughout the day and wake up right just before the sun dips into the crevices of the mountains. luo binghe was worried of course, his shizun was barely eating

he didn't understand even when he started to serve shen jiu his meals at the exact time shen jiu rouses from slumber until eventually, he could coax his shizun into eating at the proper time

luo binghe never got the answers to his confusion, eventually forgetting about them as they wade through their tumultuous relationship

it wasn't until years later as he lays beside his husband, slipping into shen jiu's dreams a tinier version of shen jiu curls up on the concrete, trembling in the harsh winter as he tries to sleep through his growling stomach

and when his husband woke up, luo binghe greeted shen jiu with all of his favorite meals and desserts laid out on the table beside their luohan bed

end of thread // binghe will always have some small snacks with him, giving them to shen jiu whenever his husband would show even the tiniest bit of signs of hunger
