• Yoongi • The afternoon light passing through the large floor-to-ceiling windows fills up the entire penthouse and Yoongi squints when the sun accidentally hits his eyes.
The white curtains are wide open, filtering some of the rays as the air conditioner makes sure that the place stays cool. As he looks around the living room, a sense of familiarity lodges inside his chest when he notices that Jimin’s penthouse +
+ looks almost exactly the last time he was here. His gaze lands on the couch where Jimin sat five years ago, looking at Yoongi with tears in his eyes like he had destroyed his world, heartbreak evident on his face as he looks at Yoongi’s baby in his arms.
The memory is a part of the past now but every expression and every word Jimin had told him still feels fresh to the elder. He will never forget how much he’d hurt the love of his life. He could forgive himself but he could never forget. Never.
But despite all of the terrible things that happened, Yoongi promises himself to be better so he can be someone worthy of Jimin’s love.
The elder feels a light tug at his hand and looks down at the little boy staring up at him. His round dark eyes make Yoongi remember his mother but it doesn’t, in any way, waver his fatherly love for him.
Everything about Youngjae is beautiful and precious; his mother’s memory will never taint the affection Yoongi holds for him. “Appa?” the little boy says meekly, looking like a lost lamb in the spacious apartment.
Yoongi crouches in front of his son and holds his shoulders. “What’s the matter?” “Is this our new house?” The question makes Yoongi smile. “Mhn. It’s beautiful, right?” Youngjae looks around for a moment before nodding at his father. “Big windows.”
Yoongi chuckles and takes his son’s hand to walk him near the glass windows. Crouching down, he points at the city view below them. “Do you see those buildings and cars?” Youngjae nods.
“They look beautiful at night. We’ll have dinner on the balcony so you can see the city lights from up here, hm?” A wide smile blooms on Youngjae’s face and he throws his arms around his father’s neck. “I’m excited, appa!”
Yoongi’s heart melts and he returns his son’s embrace, pressing a kiss on his temple. “Ya, what’s this?”
The elder’s heart swells a little more at the sight of his handsome boyfriend standing a few feet away from them, hands resting on narrow hips as a fluffy teddy bear dangles beside him.
“No one said anything about a group hug,” Jimin teases with a smile and walks towards the pair to crouch in front of the little boy. “Here’s a teddy bear for you, Youngjae-ya. Give me a hug too.”
Yoongi snorts lightly when Youngjae excitedly takes the brown teddy from Jimin’s hand and wraps a free arm around Jimin’s neck, keeping the stuffed toy close to his chest. “Thank you, Papa!”
The endearment puts a wide smile on Jimin’s face and he lifts the little kid up in his arms. “There’s a much bigger one in your room. Wanna see?” Youngjae giggles and nods at his papa. “Mhn!” Jimin chuckles and pecks his cheek before moving towards the stairs.
The adorable display of affection makes Yoongi shake his head, unable to hide the fond smile stretching his lips as he follows them to Youngjae’s bedroom.
He knows Jimin would spoil Youngjae with a nice room but not to this extent. Yoongi's mouth drops open at the huge teddy bear sitting in one corner of the room, at the space and rocket design of the single bed pushed against the wall, +
