“Secretary Kim,” he says. “Is it my turn to speak?” “Don’t we have an early morning meeting tomorrow?” the omega chuckles nervously. “Cancel it. I have more important things to do.” the alpha says, looking directly at the other’s eyes to convey the seriousness of his message.

The omega stares at him dumbly with his mouth hanging open. “You do?”
“Yeah, and I kind of feel stupid it took me this long to realize. There’s still a whole lot more that I have to say but for now, I’ll leave it at that. The most important.” the CEO says, taking another step towards him till they’re face to face.
Only a single thread is separating them. If Jeongguk leans in, he’ll be able to pull the omega into his chest, wrap his arms around his waist, breathe in the scent of cookie dough and finally… finally kiss him.
The omega’s looking at him as if he’s waiting for Jeongguk to do just that, and Jeongguk wants to. He desperately does. But he knows it isn’t time.

Secretary Kim smiles at him understandingly as he also lets out a breath he was holding, nodding at him. “I understand.” he replies breathlessly, voice gentle. “Thank you for thinking of them.”
“You told me before that you’ve watched me succeed over the last five years,” Jeongguk tells him. “Well, I got news for you, Secretary Kim. I not only plan to win one Kim's heart but all three of them.” “I can’t wait to see the day then.” he says with a grin.
“No need to wait long,” a third voice says from down the hall, making the two wolves look into its direction. It’s Lieutenant Kim wearing a dimpled smile on his face. “Appa?” Secretary Kim says.
“I’m sorry,” the older alpha chuckles. “I didn’t mean to eavesdrop. I was just getting Papa a glass of water and we couldn’t help but overhear your conversation. No regrets though because it’s exactly what we were waiting for,”
“What do you mean?” the omega asks. The alpha smiles at the two of them before saying, “It means that we accept him, pup. We accept him as a worthy suitor.”
“You do?” Jeongguk asks dumbly, unable to reveal his ears. “Look, if a wolf can respect someone’s parents’ even if they aren’t there, then we consider that wolf a good one.” the elder tells them before he looks Jeongguk in the eye.
