Something that a lot of Muslim apologists on the internet seem to have a hard time grasping is that just because two words in Arabic and Hebrew/Aramaic sound similar doesn't mean they are related or mean the same thing. Among others, machmad=/=Muhammad, and mushlam=/=Muslim.

The same triconsonantal root can mean something different across languages. For example, the K-W-N root in Arabic means "to be," but the same root in Hebrew means "to establish." Likewise, SH-L-M in Hebrew/Aramaic lacks the connotation of "submission" that S-L-M in Arabic has.

Receipts for those who question what I just said.
