A story that's flying under the radar: The US is trying to force Ecuador and Colombia into a war with each other in order to militarize and colonize the region.
The pro-US & narco-backed President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, has just announced 100% tariffs on Colombia. Why? π§΅
Noboa claims it's because Colombia isn't doing enough to combat drug trafficking. Even though Ecuador is one that has become a narco-state, they now have a murder rate higher than war-torn Haiti, and almost double that of Colombia.

Ecuador's disaster is a long-term trend that began after the restoration of neoliberalism in 2018. The subsequent social collapse triggered a surge in crime. As we can see, it began long before Colombia elected Petro (who hasn't presided over any such crime spike in π¨π΄).

As well as the fact that Noboa himself is linked to the cartels. Banana containers from Noboa Trading Co. (owned by his family) were caught trafficking cocaine to Europe. occrp.org/en/project/theβ¦
The US then launches "Operation: Total Extermination". A joint US-Ecuador op supposedly to attack drug encampments, in reality it's just bombing civilians right by Colombia's border. nytimes.com/2026/03/24/worβ¦
The militarization comes at the same time as Hegseth's colonial speech about Greater North America, essentially claiming that everything from Ecuador upwards will be under US imperial control. war.gov/News/Speeches/β¦
Colombia is a problem for US though. The left is leading the polls for the upcoming presidential elections, hence why the US is now militarily threatening Colombia by using Ecuador's narco-state as a proxy.

Ecuadorians are also paying the price. After Noboa started this conflict against Colombia, Colombia stopped exporting energy to them, now they have constant electricity blackouts. The cost of being a US ally, you have to destroy your nation to serve them.
