Why I think Kenjaku's genuine caring side is like hella underdeveloped in JJK and also how this kinda missed a point thematically in JJK imo.. 🧵
JJK is fundamentally about generational inheritance, we see this a lot in the series, its the entire reason why arcs are called "cursed womb", why its so clan based, why a lot of shit has to do with birth and death, and inheritable cursed techniques (1/15)
we know kenjaku is yujis mother, thats a really important fact and like it takes a lot of commitment to become a mother, obviously like nurturing and stuff, MONTHS of caring for a child and doing genuinely loving behavior, we obviously know like shortly after— (2/15)
yuji becomes a toddler though wasuke (his grandfather) ends up taking care of him so Kenjaku didnt do a lot of the "raising" him aspect but you still genuinely have to care for a child during yk the months. and this aspect itself is kinda why i fail to believe kenjaku— (3/15)
has to feel some human emotion towards it, lets not forget Kenjaku was originally human, like i do understand its possible for some parents to not feel guilt for leaving their children but i just feel like its highly possible, especially since— (4/15)
we see at the end of the manga he says "thank you for taking care of my son" which goes to show he actually shows some type of care for him (even after the entire thing) , he didnt say like experiment or anything he literally said son... but i still would understand— (5/15)

kenjaku genuinely is capable of forming connections, This is why takaba is actually heavily important for the plot, takaba shows that kenjaku is capable of forming connections (VERY EASILY), literally showing a whole diff side of him and like genuinely a rare moment of joy (7/15)
this is why I feel like Kenjaku has to feel some sort of guilt, the connection between him and takaba heavily spontaneous, really only happened in a whim and was strictly only for shits and giggles tbh.. Takaba wasnt nearly as affectionate as Jin was— (8/15)
which we see Jin described to REALLY love kaori and treat her really lovingly, there was something deeply human about the connection Jin wanted with Kaori (by proxy kenjaku), and Kenjaku living with Jin for months had him experience— (9/15)
domestic life, genuine love, and affection, which like genuinely capable of changing Kenjakus mindset because hes literally so used to detachment and never forming connection. always remember kenjaku was originally human

i also wanted to note i find it very strange Yuji really doesnt react to the fact kenjaku killed both of his parents, was inhabiting his mothers body for a short period of time, and literally went through effort to becoming a mother. I feel like its something— (11/15)
he shouldve acknowledged in some way but he doesnt, it honestly starts to seem like Choso is one of the only people in the series that cares about family and really wants to look out for them. Yuji learns he was an experiment as well, but he doesnt really react to it— (12/15)
which feels EXTREMELY weird, seeing as his character is literally "I want to save people" and how he was essentially manufactured into jjk to do so.

is like not able to be performative at all, its bonding and genuine internal attachment.. Kenjaku went through that, it would genuinely shock me if they didn't feel like anything during that entire period of time and didnt feel a lick of sympathy for atleast Jin (14/15)
To conclude, this is just one of those things Gege doesn't like to expand on in JJK and its fine, this series is still stellar eitherway, this is honestly just interpretation at the end of the day, this kinda meshes well with the theme of JJK and I couldve been expanded (15/15)

Motherhood is not just science experiment, its a whole fundamentally huge commitment, during the creation of the cursed paintings he never was the person who was directly involved in carrying them or being a mother to them, he just kinda experimented, engineered and observed
This is what makes Yuji different, Kenjaku had to go through the entire process and embodiment of what he experimented, it likely changed his entire view on the experiments as a whole while also having to experience the entire process on being a mother with a loving husband
Like at this point Kenjaku wasnt just "experimenting on himself" he had to participate in a genuine human experience while also being human himself, That’s not the same as commanding subordinates or doing experiments on someone, he had a loving spouse and a house to manage
