Early success doesn’t = long-term success.
You see the U10 star, but who's still improving at 20?

A lot of pros didn't specialize early. They played multiple sports, developed through unstructured environments, and didn't rush it.

Whenever I talk about early specialization, the same responses show up.
People say, "Well, in soccer you have to specialize early," or they'll point to outlier sports where athletes go pro young and early specialization is the norm (gymnastics).

And sure, those points can be valid.
But they don't erase the risks.
Early specialization can still come with physical, psychological, and developmental downsides. That doesn't mean you can't choose that path. It just means you should understand what you're signing up for.
