Pearly & Thinaah are only the 2nd ever Malaysian WD to break into Top 4. It's taken 19 years for another Malaysian WD to make Top 4 after Wong & Chin first did it in 2006. Important milestone! It also puts into perspective the work still required to build an elite WD culture/DNA.

For perspective: when Wong & Chin first broke into Top 4, China had 2 pairs in Top 4. Before Pearly & Thinaah broke into Top 4, Japan had 2 Top 4 pairs. For the elite WD nations, having multiple pairs in Top 4 or Top 10 is the norm and reflects a deeply ingrained elite culture.

What is the norm for them is an exception or a dream for us. We've never had 2 WD pairs in Top 10 at the same time. We needed 19 years just to get a 2nd pair into Top 4, while 2 Top 4 pairs occur regularly for them. To truly build an elite culture/DNA requires time and patience.

Elite DNA isn't built in a day. It's years of building history, legacy, heritage. Each milestone adds depth to our story and inspires those who follow. As milestones accumulate, they become part of our identity, gradually transforming what once seemed exceptional into the norm.

That's why blaming players misses the bigger picture. Without an elite culture, even the most talented, dedicated, and hardworking may struggle to reach the highest level. A strong, well-established elite culture can often be the difference between excellence and near-excellence.
