I really love the relationship touya has with mizuki and rui like that’s mr sweetie pea he’s just a nice genuine guy. Completely cancels out their “I love to mess with people” agendas.
I’ve talked before about how touya is a really really good benchmark for rui’s character development in that in nguc rui approached him because of tsukasa -> actually involved himself in helping -> then got involved in LSH & how touya is one of the first people-
He became closer with outside of shows & wxs. There’s still the tsukasa connection there but yknow. Baby steps. Training for pandemonium. & it paid off in lsh with that being a really good memory for them both.
I’m not a mizuki scholar so I’ll talk less about that but touya is someone who is straight forward and not hiding any ulterior motives or malice with her. I’m glad they’re in the same class the cameo card they had made me snile so sneetly.
^ also why I really enjoyed his relationship with anxiety creature nene kusanagi bc even if she committed a huge social blunder he’d just be like ok then. Actually she did do that (their first interaction where she’s like leave me tf alone & he was fine)
Mizuki & rui are both characters who default to keeping ppl at a distance and the whole messing with people thing is both for fun & to keep things from getting Too Real but bc that doesn’t work w touya he gets a fast track to being their friend
Mizuki & Rui mindset of If someone gets sincere with you and you want an out to avoid being sincere back (because in the past your sincerity was not rewarded but punished) you can just make a joke and change the subject. Not a touya though.
Turned into a touya glazing thread. I cannot help it I’m very fond of him. He’s got the same “everyone is my friend :)” aura as tsukasa but since he’s not also obnoxious and loud people don’t have to get acclimated first.
