Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Is often used by many (myself included) as scriptural justification for exposing evil in the world, but this interpretation treats the verse as a standalone, which it is not. In the proper context it's about exposing evil within the church--the body of Christ, more so than with outsiders. That's not to say we shouldn't expose wickedness in society and outside of the church, but that's not what this verse is about.
We must remember we don't fight against flesh and blood, but powers and principalities--spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore, saying "group xyz" does "xyz evil" so it's no wonder people hate "xyz" and then using Eph 5:11 to support this stance when reminded to love their enemies is not in the Spirit of what is written. The Christian knows the world is evil, and that all else outside of the Truth is of the devil as the Scriptures testify, but is more concerned with routing out the evil in themselves and the body of Christ.
"And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness."
"For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil."
"Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men."
"Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you."
