The best negotiation tactics to get customers to give you more money:
• Never justify your price. When someone asks why it costs so much your answer is because it does. You can find it cheaper elsewhere, but not from me. The moment you start explaining, you're negotiating. Hold the line.
• Undercharging is actually unethical. When you charge more you can pay your people more, buy them better equipment, and deliver better client results and experience. You can’t do that when you’re underfunded.
• Don't listen to what prospects say, listen to HOW they say it. When someone says "yeah we can definitely afford that" with a half-second pause… they actually can't. Listen for the silent cues, they’ll tell you more than words.
• Always give 3 options: bare bones, middle, and white glove. 80% will pick the middle. You control where they land and take the competing bid conversation off the table before it starts.
