BLACK HORSE = BLACK OUT Alert. A digital iron curtain is being tested right now. Since March 5, 2026, ongoing mobile internet outages in Moscow have affected millions of residents by disrupting services like online payments, messaging, taxi apps, and maps.
The Kremlin has attributed these shutdowns to security measures aimed at preventing Ukrainian drone attacks, as mobile signals could potentially guide such drones. However, some analysts suspect the disruptions are also testing a broader "sovereign internet" system, including a whitelist of approved government sites and apps that remain accessible while restricting foreign platforms and independent information during crises or unrest.
Similar outages have occurred in dozens of other Russian regions since 2025, far from conflict zones, impacting businesses (with estimated daily losses in Moscow reaching about 1 billion rubles, or roughly $10 million) and daily life, such as pharmacies closing due to failed digital systems and people resorting to pagers, walkie-talkies, or printed maps.
Authorities have promoted state-backed alternatives to encrypted apps like Telegram. I have continued to invite my friends to connect through Telegram instead of the state-controlled and state-monitored apps commonly trusted. Join Text Club for more of my content: DiscoverChurch.Online/partner
