Result? The Houthis were still firing. Biden admitted it publicly.
If America can't stop the Houthis, what makes anyone think it can subdue Iran (90M people, mountainous fortress terrain)?

Why? Because they'd invested too much to leave. Credibility. Face-saving. The sunk cost fallacy at national scale.
The same logic now applies to Iran.
