A thread of my fav korean foods 🤗

Hwedupbap 회덮밥 is #1 for me. It’s like the raw fish version of bibimbap, it’s so yummy and refreshing.

Order the Braised Mackerel 고등어조림 from Namdaemun Hairtail Alley, restaurant is called 중앙갈치. They’re known for cutlass fish, but the braised mackerel was out-of-this-world delicious. Just beware of the bones!

Chadol Samhap. If you’re craving Chadolbaegi, 진대감 is a must. It’s a chain so it’s everywhere in Seoul. The meat quality is amazing, and the best part is they cook everything for you and make tasty combinations.

Galbi BBQ at 명동서서갈비. A standing BBQ restaurant where you grill marinated Galbi over real charcoal, served with dipping sauce. Only downside is you pay for rice/kimchi but you can also bring your own sides.

If you exit out of Seoul station (Yongsan), head over to 김밥천국 & order Seolleongtang 설렁탕. The broth had a deep, beefy flavor and it came with glass noodles, my favorite. Another great Seolleongtang place is 풍미연, tho this soup comes with somen noodles!

Juicy King-sized Mandu 만두! My top 3 Mandu spots in Seoul: 1) 진성만두 in Mangwon Market, 2) 코끼리만두 in Seoul Central Market, 3) 이화만두 in Gwangjin District

If you’re in Busan, Nakgopsae 낙곱새 is a must! 개미집 is the restaurant I went to near Gwangalli Beach. It’s a chain so it’s everywhere but you have to try it in Busan. The one I had in Seoul doesn’t compare. Mix everything together and enjoy!

영미김밥 near Sinchon Railway Station is my all-time favorite kimbap 김밥. I recommend: Kimchi Bulgogi 김치불고기김밥, King Shrimp 킹새우김밥, & Pollack Roe 명란크래미김밥.

It’s not a Korean food trip without Samgyupsal 삼겹살. Grilled kimchi + Samgyupsal is the best. Ofc you’ll find this anywhere. I ate at 신김치생삼겹살 in Mapo-gu, 패대기 in Songpa-gu, & 삼겹파티 a chain BBQ in Busan. Last 2 places serve thinly sliced Samgyupsal.

자갈치 in Jongno-gu, Seoul. I already recommended Hwe in my first post in the form of a mixed rice dish, but this place you eat it as ssam 쌈. Also, seafood ramen is a must! 🤤

순대국밥 Soondae Gukbap at a restaurant called 농민백암순대, it’s a chain so it’s everywhere in Seoul

Seed Hotteok 호떡: Sweet, chewy pancakes filled with seeds & brown sugar. A must-try street snack. You can find it anywhere. I had it at Namdaemun Market at a stall called 총각호떡 (altho there are a bunch of hotteok stalls) & another at Mangwon market at a shop called 훈훈호떡.

📍Gwangjang Market Kkwabaegi (Glutinous Rice Twist)

Bingsu 빙수, which is shaved ice cream. My recommended spots are: 눈내리는 숲 설래임 (they have 3 locations in Seoul, I went to the Mapo-gu one) & Namdaemun Market Bingsu.
