Jeongguk once said he can be the way he is with Tae because he is marked by him.
But even if he shows himself to others, it will be for a few seconds and they might not fully hear him or feel him. Not unless it's close to Halloween.
"Just taking my time with him."

"Tell me more about him." Yoongi says.
"He's... a kindergarten teacher." He tries to think of things he can say that can technically be true. "He's sexy!"
"A teacher? Didn't look like one."
"He was in costume; he usually has an innocent face." Tae says.

"Nah he looked innocent as it was. He just had something dark in his eyes. Like he was hiding something." Yoongi says.
I mean, he was! He was hiding a lot. But Taehyung knows about them all now.
"He was but we talked about them."
"He could still be hiding things."

Taehyung thinks about it. It's not that he thinks Jeongguk has told him everything there is about himself but he even told him about the people he haunted.
"Unless it's a life or death situation or something really important, I don't really care. He can have secrets."

He doubts there is anything big Jeongguk can be hiding anyway.
Yoongi doesn't say anything more to it, deciding to change the topic.
"Seojoon said you talked to him."
"I did."
"You didn't bring the doll over though." He points out. "And he said he hallucinated again."

"He told me."
"You were really late for a bathroom break." Yoongi says, sounding suspicious.
"I was constipated. Unless you think he was right and I was getting f*cked by a ghost in the air?"
Yoongi looks down at his food.
Yoongi is always the hardest to fool.

He knows how unrealistic it sounds like but he must have reasons to think something just doesn't add up.
"He's just going through a psychosis but it's out of nowhere. I can't figure out what triggered him. You're not hiding anything, are you?"

"Like what?" Taehyung tries to act oblivious but it is Yoongi's job to recognize lies or signs of people trying to hide things.
"That's what I'm trying to figure out."
"Good luck with that cuz there is nothing to find out." Taehyung insists.

The rest of his day goes like every other day. He finishes checking on all his patients. He still has a bit of time left before the sit sets. He heads to where Bogum's office is and knocks on the door.
Bogum smiles when he opens the door.
"Are you done?" Taehyung asks.

"Yes. You can leave Mr Choi." Bogum tells his assistant and Taehyung walks inside, sitting in front of Bogum. "How can I help you?"
"I'm sorry for this. But I didn't know who else to go to. Do you have a patient called Jeon?" Taehyung asks. "He had an accident three years ago!"

"Yes. How do you know him?"
Taehyung has a hard time discussing it but he knows he has to.
"I'm the one who hit him."
Bogum's smile drops.
"Oh..."
"Yeah. I've been seeing Min for therapy. He told me it's best not to know much about my victim. I didn't know he was still here."

Bogum listens, not commenting on it.
"I found out today. It's been three years, he's basically dead. Can't you just talk to his family and let him... pass?" Taehyung asks.
"You want me to k*ll him?"
"He's already dead. This is not fair to him!" Tae says.

"Fair would be not having that accident." Bogum sounds mad.
Taehyung feels like the biggest jerk but he just really thinks keeping a body alive when it doesn't even function anymore is just cruel and selfish.
"It's not like he's going to wake up." Taehyung says.

"I'm going to say this with utmost respect, I can give you, Mr Kim. You have some nerves." The man says, no longer holding any familiarity with him. "I don't care what caused the accident. You are the reason he's on that bed. You don't get to decide when we put him off."

Taehyung doesn't need more guilt but he can't blame for Bogum to react the way he is. Is he being mean?
It's not like he wants anyone to die. He just thinks it is cruel to keep them like that when they know he is never going to wake up.

Taehyung might not be an expert in that field but he knows that there has never been a single case where the brain-dead person has woken up again.
"I'm not the one being cruel."
"Anyone else could say that, not you. You've done enough." Bogum says accusatively.

"Look, I can take responsibility. If they ever decide I need jail time or have my licence revoked for what I did, I'll comply. If I have to go to hell for it when I die, I will. But you can't save him, can you? No one ever has. Is it the money?" Taehyung asks.

He had seen cases like this before. They keep the body just to milk money out of a mourning family.
Bogum scuffs, sounding insulted.
"I don't care about their money. It's insulting you even insinuated that."
"Then why? Let him die, let him be at peace!"

"Get out of my office." Bogum says, sounding very cold.
Taehyung wants to argue, to get it through Bogum somehow but decides to just let things be for now.
He stands up and walks out of the hospital.
He stands next to a car and leans his back on it, sighing loudly.

It takes him some time to realize that it is already night time but Jeongguk is nowhere to be seen.
Wait! Where is Jeongguk?
He looks around, trying to see why he can't see him.
His heart beats fast.
"Jeongguk?" He calls his name out loud, starting to walk around.

Where is he?
What if he disappeared?
What if one of those things found him?
How can Taehyung even find him again?
What if he has been hallucinating all these days?
"Jeongguk?" He calls him louder and then bumps into someone. "Sorry!"
"It's okay." The man says.

Taehyung looks away and finally breathes in relief when he sees Jeongguk standing just a few steps away from him.
But he is not just looking at him, he is having a strange expression, looking at the man in front of Taehyung too.
"Are you looking for someone?"

The stranger has a strange expression too.
"Yes. Sorry, I'm sure I'll find him soon." Taehyung says. The man offers a small smile and gets to the same car Tae was just leaning on.
Jeongguk walks next to Taehyung, his eyes still on the stranger Tae just bumped into.

Jeongguk's eyes have the same type of longing they had when Taehyung saw him during the day.
"Where were you?" Taehyung asks.
"I'm sorry, was checking something." Jeongguk says.
The car drives away but Jeongguk's eyes don't look away from the car.
"Do you know him?"

Jeongguk is trying not to lose himself but it is hard. He was just at the hospital, checking the rooms to finally find his own body lying on one of the hospital beds.
He thought they would have buried it by now.
It was really strange to look at himself.

He tried to reach for his body but his soul just passed through it.
Taehyung seems to currently be the only person he can touch without his tekinisis. It might be because after marking him, his soul sort of thinks of Taehyung's body as his own.

What was even harder was seeing Seokjin next to his bed with that dead expression in his eyes.
His Jin hyung, the same man who would never stop smiling and joking around, had the most hopeless expression Jeongguk had ever seen in his eyes.

Jeongguk was following him out when Taehyung called Jeongguk's name and it looked like even hearing Jeongguk's name did something to Jin because he rushed to Taehyung, like he was also looking for the same person.
A part of Jeongguk wanted to use his telekinesis.

Just to get his body off of those machines and let Seokjin move on, to let him accept his death instead of keeping him hopeful.
But another part of him was wondering if he would dissapear too once his body would fully shut down.

Angels are meant to know a lot. Sure, Jeongguk had marked something and was stuck on it but Jeongguk always wondered why he never saw that angel of death again. Why didn't they even try to get him again. Maybe because he is a wandering soul now.

Maybe it's the mark.
Maybe it is his unfinished business.
Or maybe it is because his heart is still beating, even if the rest of his body can't function without a machine.
He couldn't do it.
He couldn't risk disappearing from Tae's life without even a goodbye.

"Knew him when I was alive." Jeongguk says, keeping it vague.
"You scared me!" Taehyung says, upset.
"I'm sorry." Jeongguk looks at him. He walks up to him to pull him in a hug.
Taehyung can't return it in public but he relaxes in it.

"I thought they got to you!" Taehyung says. "I don't know who is hunting you but... You're a ghost, how am I gonna find you if you disappear on me? I was questioning my whole sanity!"
Jeongguk holds his face and pecks on his lips.
"I'm sorry." He says again.

Taehyung seems to calm down, not scolding him anymore.
Jeongguk holds his hand so they can walk together.
Taehyung puts his headphones on so he can easily talk.
"At least tell me what's after you so I can be prepared." Taehyung says.

"I cheated death so I can only assume some of the angels must be mad. But the ones I know are after me are a bunch of vicious spirits." Jeongguk says. Taehyung frowns in confusion. "Some of the ones I k*lled. They didn't move on, they stayed to find and destroy me."

"What?" Taehyung probably hasn't even considered it. "So they're like you?"
"Not really, I'm an aimless soul. Vicious spirits remain out of pure anger and vengeance. Their only goal is to get revenge so unless I die or disappear, they won't rest until they find me."

Taehyung goes silent, not expecting that at all. Jeongguk used to be more worried about the angels and whatever they would use to punish him for all his sins but he's not so sure about them anymore.
"How long were you there with me?" Taehyung asks.
"The entire day."
