This morning we announced several upgrades to Claude Code.

We also launched two new features for managing context on the Claude Developer Platform.

The Claude Agent SDK gives you access to the same core tools, context management systems, and permissions frameworks that power Claude Code.

Claude Code has an updated terminal interface, plus a new VS Code extension for those who prefer to work fully in their IDE.

The new checkpoints feature lets you instantly undo Claude’s latest changes with Esc+Esc or /rewind.

On the Claude API, we’re introducing new capabilities for managing context on the Claude API: context editing and the memory tool.

See them in action when Claude plays Catan, building a knowledge base of opponent strategies and clearing outdated information.

Context management extends what agents can do:

- Context editing clears stale context when approaching token limits
- The memory tool stores information outside the context window

Agents can now handle longer, more complex tasks.
