There was no indication during his junior years, or even as recently as last year, that he would develop into a player capable of a bronze medal at the World Championships. Perhaps this is the key takeaway we should keep in mind as we reflect on the current state of Malaysian MS.

Don't write off any of our young MS players, from the backups in the senior squad to the juniors at BAM. It's premature to draw any definitive conclusions about their futures. You never know how things will unfold. The path ahead is never fixed. Nothing is truly set in stone.

While it's tempting to predict a young player's future based on their junior years or early senior years, many players develop in different ways. Development is complex and far from predictable. Growth can happen in unexpected ways, and breakthroughs can come when least expected.

Each player evolves at their own pace. At any moment, it can suddenly click into place, and they can blossom unexpectedly with the right combination of factors. Be patient and open-minded to the many different ways a player can grow throughout all types of developmental journeys.
