Early specialization increases injury risk, burnout, and regret. This doesn’t mean it’s a GUARANTEE or that nobody should do it. It’s just a matter of risk and what you’re comfortable with.

way it is. Hopefully you do your best to manage the training load with intelligent strength and conditioning and prioritizing recovery.

However, the research is clear…playing multiple sports builds better athletes.

Youth need movement diversity, not year round overuse.

They need fun, challenge, competition, and proper progressions….not “training like a pro.”
