Scott Alexander has an unusually smart audience, so I was taken aback by people still going with the stupid “died with covid versus died of covid” line to minimize the number of deaths in his comments. They don’t come out and announce their politics, but I assume these people get too much of their news from right-wing sources, where all kinds of bad arguments that have already been refuted fester due to the low collective intelligence of the right.
