Now I use Grok 3 as my crypto research assistant to find crypto alpha.

It's BETTER than ChatGPT for real-time research.

ChatGPT is great for general prompts.

But Grok really shines on the live research side due to its X integration.

Here are 10 of my favourite prompts.

In this thread, I will break them down.

Prompt #1: Social Engagement

"Give me top coins by social metrics over the past 7D".

@grok will scan all accounts posting about social metrics across tokens and give you a simple bullet-point list.

This is a crucial prompt as social engagement and token price are heavily correlated.

Prompt #2: Unlock Schedule

"Give me ___ projects' recent token unlocks."

For this example, I used $SOL.

If you want to source upcoming unlocks, @grok will provide a step-by-step guide on where to find the most accurate data. This is one of its best features.

Prompt #3: Macro

"Source the top resources discussing macroeconomics and crypto."

Grok will even cite the original source, making it easy to scan top macro/crypto events.

If you're a content creator or writer, this is a game-changer.

Prompt #4: Social Sentiment

"What is the social sentiment around ___ right now?"

Much like prompt 1, we can utilize Grok to track sentiment on CT (not just social metrics) around a specific project.

Again, I used $SOL for this example, but you can use this for any altcoin.

Prompt #5: Seed round investments

This is one of my favourite prompts.

"Give me the seed round investments for ___ project."

Sometimes data be limited here, but @grok will point you in the right direction and explain any gaps in its output.

Prompt #6: Upcoming Catalysts

"What are the most recent bullish catalysts for ___ project."

This prompt is excellent for summarising "why" you should buy an altcoin.

You can also ask it to create a SWOT analysis so you can understand the weaknesses/threats as well.

Prompt #7: Top Tweets

"What are the top tweets saying about ___ project over the past two weeks?"

Like prompt #7, this is an excellent "overview" style prompt for analysing the top tweets about any altcoin in real-time.

Prompt #8: Pros & Cons

"What are the Pros and Cons of ___ project right now?"

While getting the bullish catalysts is great, AI is fantastic for outlining potential cons you might be missing.

This is an excellent prompt for quickly analyzing the R:R on any given altcoin trade.

Prompt #9: Volume

"Over the past week, what projects are seeing the most volume in the ___ sector in the___ market cap range?"

@grok can easily aggregate volume data across various narratives and market cap ranges.

I quickly searched for noteworthy memes in the 100M range.

Prompt #10: Team credibility

"How credible is the team behind ___ project?"

Continuing with $SOL, @grok broke down the key team members and their previous experience.

For lower caps, data may be limited, so make sure to ask follow-up questions.

Bonus prompting tips:

• Utilize @grok's "DeepSearch" & "Research" modes for limited data responses
• Make sure the latest LLM is selected (Grok 3 right now)
• Be direct with the format you want (bullet point, table, etc)
• For complex topics, add "Explain like I'm 5."
