Left : Kyivskyi district of Donetsk, reportedly "bombed" during 10 years by Ukraine 🇺🇦.
Right : Bakhmut city, bombed during 8 months by Russia 🇷🇺.

New satellite images expose russian lies over claimed "genocide" against russian speaking people.

This is the Kyivski district of Donetsk city, the nearest point from the frontline during the 8 years of Donbass war and 2 years of full scale invasion.

We will take a look at satellite images and compare destruction with other ukrainian controlled cities.

This is the most destroyed part of Donetsk city, the Donetsk airport terminal, bombed by russian and pro-russian forces in 2015, when they broke the ceasfire to take controll of it.

The area around is the one that suffered the most in Donetsk.

But if we go a few kilometers west, in the Pisky area which was under ukrainian controll during 8 years and taken in august 2022, we can see complete destruction of buildings.

Further west, in an area that stayed under ukrainian controll until june 2024, Pervomaivske, we can see the hell on earth. No building is standing, everything is destroyed.

And then, if we compare these images with the ones of Donetsk city, we can see it was a calm and safe city, despite some occasional artillery strikes.

3 404 civilians were killed in the Donbass war, many by unexploded devices and artillery strikes from both sides.

Russian propaganda is saying that during 8 years, the ukrainian armed forces bombed everyday Donetsk city and tried to destroy it, killing civilians.

Looking at satellite images, Donetsk is as destroyed as Tchernihiv (bombed by Russia during 2.5 months).

It is possible for anyone to compare the same distance from the frontline in Avdiivka (this picture has been taken in 2024, 1.5km from the 2014-2023 frontline) and on pro-russian side (1.5km from the 2014-2023 fronline).

Then you can compare the "destroyed" Donetsk and the "liberated" Marioupol, Bakhmout, Sievierodonetsk, Vovchansk.

Anyone can see by their own eyes that buildings less than 5km from the former frontline inside pro-russian controlled territory are not destroyed.

Here you can even see frontline houses in the town of Staromykhailivka.

Just next to it, we can see the same frontline houses of Krasnohorivka, on ukrainian side :

Recently, a new batch of satellite images from Donetsk city is helping the OSINT community to geolocate destroyed russian vehicles, the road they used, trenches and bombings.

In the fields west of Donetsk, we can see tens of scattered russian armour, here east of Krasnohorivka.

We can also see concentration of destroyed russian vehicles in the fields, a clear proof that it cost a lot to Russia to conquer Avdiivka.

Here is part of the destroyed vehicles I could find, more than a hundred for this only part of Donetsk frontline.

If their are some cases of deliberate targeting of civilian areas during Donbass war, there have never been any systematic targeting of the city populated areas.

And russian/pro-russian forces also used heavy artillery (here grad strike on Donetsk airport in 9/2014)
