Ashkenazi Jews are very homogeneous (all 4th cousins) but their mixed blood can produce a pretty wide range of phenotypes. Even centuries after they arrived in Europe, uninvited and unwanted, they’re more closely related to Palestinians than they are to most Europeans.

Some additional populations for reference. Southern Italians/Sicilians are genetically quite similar to Ashkenazi Jews. Shared East Mediterranean blood.
