The genealogies of Cain and Seth teach us that wickedness mimics righteousness even in name.
Lamech the son of Methushael, is the first person to have two wives and would go on to prophecy a curse 10x greater than the one God proclaimed against anyone who would harm or seek revenge while admitting to murder.
His two wives, Adah and Zillah, are only the second and third named women in the Bible. This significant detail should not be overlooked. Adah bore him Jabal and Jubal, while Zillah bore him Tubal-Cain and Namaah (the first named daughter!).
After a brief breakdown of Cain's descendants Lamech delivers a cryptic prophesy to his wives without any apparent divine backing--
For I have slain a man for wounding me,
Even a young man for bruising me
Truly Cain shall be avenged of sevenfold
And Lamech seventy and sevenfold
What we see here is Lamech enlarging himself, the first of many, in his time even the wise Solomon would fall into this trap.
There is no doubt Lamech of Cain was an exceedingly evil man and had nothing on Lamech of Seth other than sharing a name.
The lineage of Seth only provides the names of the firstborn males and ages, in contrast, the lineage of Cain is highly decorated in carnal accomplishments, departs from naming only the male firstborns, mentions 3 women by name and does not mention any ages at all. These differences invite close examination.
After Lamech's cryptic announcement we shift abruptly to Adam and Eve again for the last 2 verses of chapter 4. This concludes Cain's lineage--it doesn't get a proper ending or a full chapter. Instead its stopped in its tracks by the announcement of the birth of Seth and how his sons began to call on the Lord (4β’25-26). Cain's lineage is not given an introduction/closing and his firstborn status is rejected because of disobedience.
When Eve bore Cain she declared that she received a man from the Lord, which immediately brought the man-child from Revelation 12:5 to mind. However, when Seth was born she said she received a seed from the Lord, which seems to be very subtle foreshadowing... She is prophesying redemption.
It is through Seth's seed that the promise would be delivered, which means Eve was also a prophet in our her own right, in that she held the testimony of Jesus Christ and not only knew of the promise, but declared it, thus confessing unto salvation. (Romans 10β’9, Revelation19β’10).
Paul writes to Timothy that women are redeemed in childbirth:
For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
The context provided in v.13-14 lets us know he is directing us towards Eve, the primary example of verse 15 fulfilled. Through her first child, which she called a man, the earth was cursed but through her 3rd child, a seed, the earth would be blessed.
Chapter 5 introduces itself as the generations of Adam through Seth creating even further separation between the two lineages. The number 5 symbolizing grace.
The other Lamech, the son of Methuselah of the seed of Seth, was a righteous man, a prophet, and the father to Noah who lived 777 years, a number expressing perfection.
The "righteous" Lamech, father of Noah, also delivers a bold prophesy towards the end of the chapter, but not about repercussions for seeking revenge on him but a message of hope that through his son the world will be redeemed:
"This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our handed because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed."
This anointing declares Noah the first prototype of Christ Jesus in Scripture and confirms that since the very beginning the salvation of the righteous was always the Son.

Taking all this into consideration it's highly unlikely angels, which at this point have only been introduced as guardians of the garden, would be sleeping with the sons of men, chapter 4+5 are practically screaming at us that it was a mix of these lineages that God

desired separate that was the catalyst to the flood, and not angels/human hybrids. We are sons of God through faith, and so were Seth and his sons. angels cannot reproduce and are not sons.
