SALVATION—What Must I Do To Be Saved?

May the Holy Spirit make these few words in answer to this great question, so plain that you will be able to say, "I see it," and I will now believe!

You ask, "what must I do to be saved?"

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16•31.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me hath everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life." John 5•24.

Behold, Jesus knocks at your door, accept him and you are saved reject him and you are lost. This saith the Scriptures.

-Begin the Christian life in a humble and trusting way, as the child begins with the alphabet at school.
-Don't look for marvels.
-Don't expect to see visions.

Believe that the Holy Spirit will come into your heart, and cause you to live and delight in his will; not because you may feel happy, but because you are definitely trusting him to do what he has promised to do. If you will forsake your sins, he says he will blot them out and give you his Holy Spirit.

Believe the word of the Lord, because it is his word, and he cannot lie. He says he will give you strength for labor; courage for conflict; the power to resist temptation, and grace sufficient for every day. Take him at his word and you will soon know for yourself how blessed it is to trust and obey.

1st. Receive Christ as a Savior.
"But as many as received him to them gave he power to become the Sons of God. Even to them that believe on his name." John 1•12.

2nd. Confess Christ before men.
"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." Matt. 10•32.

"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteous-ness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Rom. 10•9, 10.

The "if" at the beginning of this last Scripture suggests two conditions.

A) To "confess," that is, make known with your mouth the Lord Jesus.
B) To "believe," that is, really mean it in your heart.

If you meet these conditions God's word says, "thou shalt be saved." Our feelings are not to be depended upon.

3rd.Obey Christ in life.
"He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me. And he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father and I will love him and will manifest myself to him." John 14•21.

The first two steps you can take in a moment. The third step will require all your life to live it. All who will decide to trust in Christ now, join me in this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I come to thee just as I am, and take thee at thy word; wash away all my sins, and give me thy Holy Spirit to help me to trust thee always, and do thy will in all things, for Jesus sake. Amen.

Last time I posted this someone told me 3 shouldn't be on there. Jesus says this:

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and 🔔shall teach men so🔔, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:19

Notice He says in the kingdom of heaven.
