The purpose of Bible prophecy is not to make men prophets but to confirm our faith after the prophecy has come to pass.
The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus Christ.
No one knows what they are talking about when they point to verses from the apocalypse and say it's relating to a current event, myself included. In 2000 years of Revelation there is not a single man we can look back to and say "oh he really knew". Instead, time and time again we are proven wrong and ALL of us look like vainglorious attention seeking fools.
