Katsuki was getting tired of this little game him and Izuku were playing. They were in love. He knew it. Izuku knew it. But the only way they were capable of expressing it was physically.

Night after night, they would love each other in his den. Or Izuku’s nest. Or ungodly places where love should not be expressed through the rabid chasing of each other’s pleasure. It always happened and then he would leave. But Izuku would never ask him to stay….

Maybe this was all Katsuki’s fault. Maybe Izuku shouldn’t have to ask. Maybe he should just stay and see what happens. But, there was a wall preventing him from imposing on Izuku in that way. Izuku had lost his power. After years working together as hero partners,

Izuku had lost One for All. He was only 20 years old, but Izuku’s early retirement felt to him, like his life was over. Katsuki thought he still had his whole life ahead of him but it was a sore subject and he knew he had to encourage him subtly.

Izuku had his walls up sky high with everyone but him. But they were still about a hill high. Katsuki was working on breaking them down every day, but he couldn’t just bulldoze like he always did. Especially because Izuku used sex to keep him from doing so.

And he was impossible to resist. Again, maybe this was all Katsuki’s fault.

The alpha felt his heart tug with agony as Izuku got off of him when they were finished with their nightly “activities”. He wanted to be there for him. He wanted to stay. He felt hollow to leave.

Katsuki looked over at the omega who was out of breath and trying to brace himself for the same empty feeling.

Why didn’t he just ask him? Why did they have love each other then hurt each other?

“Izu-” Katsuki began to say before he stopped himself at the sound of his own voice

It was weak and filled with need. Filled with desperation. Maybe Izuku didn’t love him. Maybe Izuku did this with him because he thought this was the only way he could be useful to him now.

Maybe Katsuki was projecting his own feelings onto someone who was too good to say no.

Izuku looked over at him and didn’t say anything. Didn’t ask him to stay. Didn’t ask him to leave. Just let Katsuki figure that out for himself.

And so Katsuki left. Again.

He always told himself it would be the last time. That it wasn’t good for either of them.

But he couldn’t help himself. After every patrol, he went back. After every villain fight, he went back. After every night out with friends, visit with family, interview, career highlight, hero ranking, he went back again and again and again.

And Izuku let him leave again and again and again.

Until one night, one fateful night….

“Kacchan….” Izuku grabbed onto his shirt he had just put on to cover up the damage he did to him with his nails.

Katsuki looked at him in shock.

“I…” Izuku’s lips trembled.

His eyes watered and he looked ready to fall apart.

“Hey. What is it?” Katsuki caressed his face before kissing him gently. “What is it, Izuku?”

“Will you stay with me?” He cried. “Please? I… I need you! I’m sorry! I know things have never been easy with us… I know…”

“I’m not able to live the dream we both fought so hard for! But that doesn’t stop me from wanting to watch you live it for us! That doesn’t stop me from wanting to be with you! I’m sorry! I’m not able to hold this feeling back anymore! Kacchan, I-”

“I love you too!”

Katsuki best him to the punch before pulling him into his chest and kissing him intensely. “And I need you more than you need me!” He caressed his face and the two cried together. “I love you.”

“I love you so much, Kacchan!” Izuku whispered back.

They fell asleep in each other’s arms. And Katsuki was finally able to actually rest feeling whole inside. Until he got thirsty in the middle of the night.

He should have stayed in bed with the person he loved more than anything. Maybe then he wouldn’t have checked his phone.

He wouldn’t have seen the call to him from Half and Half. He wouldn’t have stepped outside to take it, to avoid waking Izuku.

“Bakugo, how fast can you get to Shiketsu High?!”

“Shiketsu?! That’s a long way’s from here!”

“HOW FAST?!” Shoto questioned urgently.

He could hear screams and destruction behind him. If a hero as strong as him was calling for back up in the middle of the night, then this could only mean there was a huge disaster.

And Katsuki needed to help stop it! He looked behind him at Izuku’s apartment door.

“I’ll be there in ten minutes.” He huffed.

Izuku woke up with the sun. It was the longest he had been able to sleep since he lost One for All. He was happy he was able to tell Kacchan how he felt! And even happier Kacchan reciprocated his feelings!

“Kacchan?” Izuku turned over and noticed he was gone before jolting up. “Kacchan?!” He felt panic surge through him as he looked around his apartment for the guy he had loved his whole life. There was a glass of water on the nightstand that Kacchan must have left for him.

Izuku grabbed his phone that was next to it and dropped the envelope he had yet to give him. The envelope that gave him courage to finally tell the alpha how he felt. He was hoping they could open it together in the morning when they woke up.

But Kacchan left. Izuku didn’t doubt his words for a second. Something must have happened!

He looked at his phone and his jaw dropped at the news notifications. There was a huge disaster in Shiketsu. A group of students destroyed the school from the inside.

They got corrupted and turned to villainy and they were all really powerful. They kept the pro heroes that tried to stop them on their toes.

“The scene contained and all students involved have been arrested thanks to the brave heroes that put a stop to them!”

A reporter announced live on the scene. “However, there were several casualties! Unfortunately, not all the students made it out alive. And not all the heroes did, either!”

Izuku felt a twisted feeling in his stomach. Kacchan had to be there… but he had to be okay, right?

He looked at his messages and missed calls.

His last message was from Kacchan.

‘Villain attack. Gotta go. Love you.’

‘I’ll be back!’

Izuku nodded his head and waited on his couch while watching the news in horror.

A bunch of kids were really capable of this much damage?

He held the envelope tight to his chest before his hand instinctively reached for his stomach.

“Don’t worry…” Izuku said fondly. “When Kacchan come back, we’ll make him feel better.”

A gentle knock on his door, interrupted him.

“Kacchan?” Izuku questioned before rushing to open it. It was unlike the alpha to knock that way. He flung it open and felt his heart stop when he saw the solemn, devastated looks on Todoroki, Kaminari and Kirishima’s faces.

“Midoriya…” Shoto broke down in tears. “I- I’m so sorry!”

Katsuki eyes snapped open as he woke up in a giant field of grass. He whipped his head back and forth before seeing a bunch of the kids he saved from a falling building surrounding him.

They were all just as confused as he was.

“No way…”

“This Hikaru’s quirk, isn’t it?”

“It’s gotten so much stronger…”

Hikaru? Was that the brat with the gold hair’s name?

“DynaMight’s here… this is bad!”

Suddenly Katsuki remembered what this ‘Hikaru’ told him!

Katsuki and the other heroes were working hard on evacuation and arresting the dumb brats who turned to villainy. They were strong! But nothing Katsuki couldn’t handle. There was a girl with a powerful scream that was worse than Present Mic’s.

A guy who could fire meteors from his hands. Another girl who could make stars fall from the sky, and a guy who could summon any natural disaster.

And then there was golden haired kid. He was quiet and didn’t say anything. And from what Katsuki understood, didn’t do anything!

All of Katsuki’s friends and fellow heroes managed to arrest the more destructive teenagers while Katsuki used his speed to save everyone he could.

But the heroes made a terrible mistake ignoring the golden haired kid!

After Katsuki saved the group of students from a falling building, he heard a loud clap.

“Amazing job, number one! Guess you don’t need Deku at all, huh?” Hikaru said with admiration. “But the world does need you. So… what if they lost you?” He grinned.

Katsuki was about to knock him out, when suddenly he felt himself fall.

“Huh?!” Katsuki fell endlessly in a black void as the kid’s voice echoed in his head.

“My quirk isn’t that powerful but it is useful. I’m so happy I could use it on you!”
