Software engineering jobs were heaven for a few decades. Until Corona, if you're an engineer, recruiters would bombard you with offers. Yet, everything changed overnight.
According to Vice, based on a December survey conducted by Blind on 9,338 software developers, almost 90% of software engineers polled in the study stated that ๐ณ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ ๐ท๐ผ๐ฏ ๐ถ๐ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป ๐ถ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐บ๐ถ๐ฐ, with 66 percent saying it is "much harder."
Almost 80% of those surveyed claimed that ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ถ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ท๐ผ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ. If they lost their job today, only 6% of software engineers were "extremely confident" they could find another with the same total remuneration, while 32% stated they were "not at all confident."
In addition, ๐๐ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐น๐ ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฒ, and there are indications that the coding field is about to undergo a radical shift. It is possible to write code 6% faster using these tools, which will only grow.
