A series of Arrowverse novels written by Barry Lyga and Jo Whittemore follow a different timeline where Barry never caused Flashpoint, dubbed the "Barryverse"

In Arrow's infamous 4th season, several episodes end with flashforwards showing a grave, revealing that a main character was going to die, with fans speculating on who it could be

As it turns out, the writers didn't know who was dying either, and later decided on Black Canary

The 2016 crossover Invasion! was advertised to be the first featuring all four Arrowverse shows at the time, with Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow

However, Supergirl's episode was entirely unrelated until the ending, where Barry and Cisco ask Kara for help

In Arrowverse Canon, Barack Obama survived an assassination attempt from Gorilla Grodd while attending college

He also took partial responsibility for a group of Kahndaqi extremists led by the Arrowverse version of Black Adam, and tells Amanda Waller to send in the Suicide Squad

In Arrow Season 2.5, an official tie-in comic written by Marc Guggenheim & Keto Shimizu, Bronze Tiger is killed with his own claws by Arrowverse Black Adam while on a Suicide Squad mission

This is later retconned, as Michael Jai White returned as Bronze Tiger in Arrow season 7

Oliver's son Connor Hawke was not adapted well

Sandra Hawke is initially adapted as Samantha Clayton, a white woman who had a different child named William

He's then revealed as Diggle's son in the future, who chose the name Connor Hawke

But actually, he's Bronze Tiger's son

Constantine was retroactively added to the Arrowverse after its cancellation due to fan demand for Matt Ryan's portrayal of the character

He was an Arrow guest star, then a Legends of Tomorrow series regular, and has since played John Constantine in 5 different animated projects

Lucifer was retroactively added to the Arrowverse during Crisis on Infinite Earths, where it's confirmed the show takes place on Earth-666

The cameo also accidentally puts Watchmen into Arrowverse canon, as there's a billboard for the HBO show in the establishing shot

Arrowverse Batman killed The Joker and left Gotham in 2015 but never returned, with Batwoman investigating his disappearance

This storyline was dropped with Ruby Rose's departure, as a recasted Kate Kane is written out to investigate this offscreen and probably won't resolve it

To date, Batwoman is the only live-action show or movie that used comics accurate white eyes for the main Batsuit

In The Flash season 3, the concept art design for The Rival was adjusted because he looked too similar to the previous season's villain, Zoom

This resulted in one of the ugliest suits the Arrowverse ever produced, which is saying a lot

In Arrow season 2's 19th episode, Stephen Amell does this funny ass scream when Deathstroke is beating the shit out of him

In Arrow season 3's midseason finale, Oliver is impaled by Ra's al Ghul and kicked off a large mountain

Fans were so excited to see him get revived in the Lazarus Pit, the obvious conclusion to make

Instead, he actually survived the fall and just needed stiches and herbal tea

In Arrow season 1, Warren Christie plays Oliver's childhood friend who become a neurosurgeon

In Batwoman, Warren Christie plays Hush, the Batman villain who was Bruce Wayne's childhood friend that went on to become a neurosurgeon

In The Flash season 1, Mick Rory/Heatwave is introduced as a sadistic criminal obsessed with fire, believing his true self was revealed by the burns on his body

In Legends of Tomorrow season 6, he gives birth to 48 alien squids from his nose

Arrow season 5 had a special 100th episode to celebrate just how far the gritty drama had come over the years

Awkwardly, this had to be written during the crossover where aliens invade earth and kidnap the president, so the cast are placed in simulation pods to relive memories

In the 5th episode of The Flash season 5, Iris jumps off a building to unlock Barry's handcuffs and save him while freefalling

This isn't a complaint I actually love everything about it

In The Flash episode 15, Barry time travels while attempting to stop a tidal wave from hitting the city

This means that Barry accidentally abandoned the show's original timeline, so from their perspective The Flash just vanished and Central City got obliterated by a tsunami

In Arrow season 4, Oliver finally started going by the name Green Arrow

Unfortunately his new suit wasn't green enough, so in MANY scenes there's a filter tracked over him specifically to make his costume greener

For whatever reason, The Flash usually designated the 15th episode of a season as the "big episode" where they blew the CGI budget

Despite always being referred to as yellow, The Flash's lightning has been orange for the show's entire run, and we just kind of pretend it's not

Meanwhile Kid Flash, Jesse Quick, and Impulse have actually yellow lightning

Every color has been used for a speedster's natural lightning trails except for green

The only cases of green lightning being when the Speed Force got infected by the Spectre's energy (it was a whole thing) and then from the Still Force (I don't have time for this)

With some early Arrowverse costume designs, to avoid suits being full bright colors, they'd just paint the bottom halves as a black gradient

The Flash season 6 episode 8 features a scene where the villain magically gets away but Barry actually chases and catches them

This is highly unusual

The Flash season 3 finale features this shot

Lady Shiva was planned to appear in Arrow season 3, it's possible that she would've been in the Hong Kong flashbacks but was replaced by Katana

Arrowverse shows are infamous for their bad/degrading CGI quality, however Black Lightning is the one example of a CW show where the VFX relatively improved over time

After Arrow and The Flash season 4, it became a running joke in the community that Arrowverse shows were cursed to have their 4th seasons be the worst

This curse was broken by Supergirl which actually peaked with a great 4th season, but had the opposite problem as a result

Joe West and Cecile Horton had a baby named Jenna in The Flash season 4

Due to the particle accelerator, her pregnancy gave Cecile the "gestational meta ability" of telepathy, which has since leveled up to telekinesis

Jenna is at least 4 now, and has not appeared for 2 seasons

After 8 seasons of character development, several retcons, fluctuating usefulness, like 37 love interests, and looks that kept getting worse, The Flash has just now decided to introduce a new alter of Caitlin Snow in the final season

Her name is Khione, also the other 2 died

Arrow season 4 episode 17 has Oliver fighting a bee-themed villain and her big combat robot, it's horrendous

But for absolutely explainable no reason at all, the bee robot that was literally only in this single episode had one of the coolest suit designs in Arrowverse history

In Arrow season 5, one villain of the week is an armored assassin named Scimitar, who co-showrunner Wendy Mericle referred to as a "big DC universe character"

However, there is no DC character named Scimitar, because as it turns out, they accidentally adapted a Marvel character

The Flash season 7, as many shows did at the time, tackled the George Floyd protests

Using Killer Frost(now just Frost) as a BLM allegory, she's detained by the bigoted anti-metahuman Indigenous cop Kramer, who claims she was behind a recent murder despite contradicting evidence

The villain of Superman & Lois season 2 is a cult leader named Ally Allston

While not confirmed, the character and storyline were likely references to Allison Mack, a former Smallville series regular and currently imprisoned sex trafficker who was involved with the NXIVM cult

In The Flash episode 22, Barry calls Green Arrow and Firestorm for help against Reverse Flash

Arrow had been doing a storyline where Oliver was lying to his team and pretending to be brainwashed by the League of Assassins to remain undercover, so he showed up wearing this outfit

Jitters was a coffee shop featured throughout many seasons of The Flash, being the main location characters would go besides STAR Labs

They named a special drink after Zoom, despite him being a serial killer who snapped the necks of 9 people at the same time, in their own shop

In The Flash season 8's premiere episode, Barry tells Despero "Whoever you are, If you're looking for a fight, you found one."

In the Portuguese dub, audio was accidentally left in of Barry's voice actor saying "look at that shitty dialogue" after saying the line

The Flash season 3 episode 17 is a special musical crossover with Supergirl, where both casts gets to sing cute original songs together

The following day this aired, Arrow had an episode where Oliver is physically and psychologically tortured by Prometheus in an unknown location

During Oliver's 32nd birthday party in Arrow season 5, Felicity gets Oliver a Green Arrow-themed cake from "Lord Mesa Bakery"

This is a nod to Lord Mesa, a popular Arrowverse fanartist who Marc Guggenheim commissioned, and then surprised by putting their art in the episode

In Legends of Tomorrow season 5 episode 2, Youtube channels that made reaction videos for episodes of the show were featured as reacting fans in the intro scene

The reaction channels posted themselves reacting to their reactions being canon and reacting in the episode

Legends of Tomorrow season 6 episode 5 features an entirely animated sequence, inspired by classic Disney Princess films

A team from Warner Bros. Animation was brought in to create the scene, which lasts over 5 minutes before transitioning back to the live-action cast

In June 2016, Grant Gustin revealed the title of The Flash season 3 premiere episode was "Flashpoint"

The whole show begins as a paradox, which then becomes like 12 more paradoxes as the show continues

The first 3 main villains of The Flash get introduced as speedsters who are faster than Barry, and then beat the fuck out of him for like 5 minutes straight

Barry Allen and Iris West finally get to have their wedding 4 years in, but sadly the ceremony is interrupted by an army of Nazis from an alternate earth

After defeating the threat and losing a close friend they redo the wedding, but sadly the ceremony is interrupted by Felicity

The character of Chrissy Beppo is the editor-in-chief of the Smallville Gazette, who befriends and then works for Lois Lane in Superman & Lois

For some reason, she's named after Superman's friend from the comics, Beppo, who also happens to be a genetically modified monkey

In Arrow season 4, Oliver meets with John Constantine's friend Esrin as he needs help against Damien Darhk's magic, so she teaches him magic called Light of the Soul

This light magic invokes the power of God himself, and is used by nuns in the Catholic Church

He used it twice

In The Flash, Oliver shoots Reverse Flash and takes away his speed using nanites, courtesy of Ray Palmer

This line became a meme in the Arrowverse community because of how long and awkward Oliver's explanation was, and is jokingly referenced years later in two Flash episodes

The A.V. Club gave Legends of Tomorrow episode 12 "Last Refuge" a low D+ rating, saying "The production design is as lazy as the action staging."

Years later in season 4, the character Ava Sharpe directly quote this review to her girlfriend(and later wife) Sara Lance

Supergirl's showrunners, Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner(the ones who pitched a 7th season without Supergirl in it), aren't credited for writing the script of the series finale(story only), and didn't give post-finale interviews

Actor Tom Felton played the new character Doctor Alchemy/Julian Albert in The Flash season 3

Multiple sites covering the show had an unspoken agreement to not report on these set photos, as they didn't want the entire season spoiled

The notorious set photo leaker Canadagraphs, who has leaked like a billion Arrowverse plot points and actor returns over the years, had crazy beef with the Arrowverse executive producer/showrunner/writer Marc Guggenheim

The Arrowverse was constantly made fun of for seemingly giving the majority of superheroes cheap leather jackets

They have since made a conscious effort to not use anywhere near as much leather for their suit designs, so they constantly get made fun of for cheap CGI instead

Superman & Lois episode 11 accidentally aired with an entire scene using unfinished CGI

For those who have never had the privilege, this is usually what early review copies look like for VFX-heavy shows, as VFX teams have very little time to finish weekly episodes

Osric Chau, who played Ryan Choi/The Atom, has been accused of grooming fans(some being underage) and asking them for nudes, and also offering to fly them out to meet them

Despite this, he was invited back to play The Atom in The Flash season 8

In Arrow season 7 episode 7 "The Slabside Redemption" David Ramsey wasn't standing in a scene where Diggle was supposed to be, making a continuity error

The initial goal of Arrow was to build up to the "classic" Green Arrow team, with Black Canary and Speedy/Red Arrow/Arsenal

They were only on screen together as vigilantes a handful of times within 8 full seasons

In musical crossover with Supergirl, The Flash introduced Darren Criss as Music Meister, a villain first appearing in the Batman: The Brave and the Bold

At the end of the episode he implies that he's really a 4th dimensional being, who just wanted to test Barry and Kara for fun

At some point during Legends of Tomorrow season 5, the crew attempted to get Alaina Huffman to guest star on the show, as she played Black Canary in Smallville

What may surprise you is that in Smallville, Black Canary was a conservative talk show host

In the finale of Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Anti-Monitor is revealed to still be alive, so he's defeated by a group of heroes in some parking lot

Three of these heroes just shoot him with pistols, Kate has some batarangs, Sara keeps far away because she only uses a bo staff

Cecile Horton, Barry's defense attorney from the comics, is introduced in season 3 of The Flash

When Barry is framed for the murder of Clifford DeVoe, her best defense is that he's simply too good and innocent of a man to have done it, your honor

Crisis on Earth-X is usually considered the best crossover event in the Arrowverse, releasing soon after Justice League (2017) and embarrassing that movie further

It was an incredibly difficult shoot for the cast and crew, and somehow has a minute-long one take action scene

The Flash has received a lot of criticism for "ruining" the character of Godspeed, and now also for "ruining" Red Death

This is because nobody actually reads the comics, and probably just heard about them on TikTok 👍

Red Tornado was introduced in episode 6 of Supergirl, and was largely considered to have the worst costume in Arrowverse history

They decided to redeem themselves by having a redesigned CGI Red Tornado in Crisis on Earth-X, also quickly showing up in the Supergirl series finale

For the first 5 seasons of The Flash, many posters would be made for individual episodes on top of the usual season posters
