The Arrowverse is ending soon so here's a thread of some tidbits, BTS issues, and weird lore I remember about it from the past 10 years

Some of Arrow's first promo images look very different from the gritty tone the show ended up with

Stephen Amell wasn't happy when WB announced Ezra Miller's casting as The Flash one week after the show's pilot episode

At San Diego Comic-Con (2014), a DC TV panel featured the full casts of Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, and Constantine together for the first and only time

When Barry learns how to do his first supersonic punch in episode 6, they use a shot of his fist going the wrong way

It's bugged me for 9 years

The artist Bosslogic got popular largely from his frequent fan posters during the early Flash and Arrow seasons, sorry if these unearth any memories for you

Arrow season 2 featured a deleted scene with Harley Quinn voiced by Tara Strong, where she gives Diggle a racist nickname and is left in an ARGUS prison cell

WB stepped in to stop them from using Suicide Squad characters altogether,

Killer Frost initially showed up as an easter egg during The Flash's season 1 finale, and these are the only existing images of her specific look from that episode to my knowledge

The first trailer for Legends of Tomorrow used test footage which featured Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin, among many other scenes that were never made to be used in the actual show

An unfortunate editing mistake in Arrow S3E17

The Atom ruthlessly electrocutes Arsenal against a fence, but Oliver is able to talk him down and then leaves the area as it cuts to commercial

Roy doesn't show up again, implying he abandoned his sidekick's unconscious fried body

Shantel VanSanten revealed that Patty Spivot was written out of The Flash early in season 2 because Andrew Kreisberg(showrunner) was upset with her for booking a role in another TV show

He was later fired after nearly 20 people accused him of sexual harassment

During a PaleyFest 2017 Arrowverse panel hosted by Kevin Smith, Andrew Kreisberg(sexual predator) revealed that the main villain of The Flash season 4 wouldn't be a speedster for once

The audience erupted in cheers, leaving Kreisberg visibly confused

Firestorm was killed off in the first episode of The Flash season 2 because they wanted him as a regular on Legends of Tomorrow, but Robbie Amell was already booked for The X-Files

A new version of Vixen was created for similar reasons, as Megalyn Echikunwoke was too busy

Brandon Routh was originally cast as Ted Kord/Blue Beetle in Arrow season 3, but was changed to Ray Palmer/The Atom as WB had other plans for the character and forbid it

His costume was inspired by Iron Man, and cost "more than your average American home" to make

Colton Haynes chose to leave Arrow after 2 seasons in 2015 to prioritize his mental and physical health

He returned to the role of Roy Harper as a series regular again for season 7, but he left the show for the second time due to depression and being unable to stand a cast mate

After Arrow's very poorly received episode focused on gun control, Marc Guggenheim revealed they planned on making a Black Lives Matter episode

When asked if Arrow had any black writers on the team, Guggenheim replied "we'll be bringing someone in"

The episode was never made

Violett Beane left The Flash after playing Jesse Quick for 2 seasons due to landing a lead role in Greg Berlanti's new CBS show, God Friended Me

Unfortunately, God Friended Me was cancelled after 2 seasons and Jesse Quick died painfully offscreen from an antimatter wave

The CW was not allowed to use or reference Wonder Woman in any way for the duration of the Arrowverse

However, they managed to get approval for a quick shot and name drop of Themyscira during a single Legends of Tomorrow episode, using footage of the Greek island Zakynthos

After a bad 3rd season and worse 4th season of Arrow, the moderators of the show's subreddit gave up and changed it to a Daredevil subreddit as an act of protest

Hope was restored after a great 5th season, until season 6 was bad again so they changed it to a Punisher subreddit

The character of Felicity Smoak was given a paraplegic storyline as a nod to Barbara Gordon/Oracle, referencing her twice

To follow suit with the modern comics, it was handled poorly and she was given a spinal microchip that allowed her to walk again

Oscar-nominated star Austin Butler was in four episodes of Arrow's third season

He played a club DJ named Chase who was also secretly a League of Assassins member, who fails to kill Thea and then drinks a vial of cyanide, dying instantly

The cast of DC's Titans allegedly declined to show up in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover because they were embarrassingly little money to film cameos

So instead the CW was given footage of the original unaired Titans season 1 finale, which was given a red filter

Terry Beatty, co-creator of the character Wild Dog, was pissed when Arrow decided to give him a new modernized costume

They later went back to the original suit

The Flash had to change the suit's cowl early in the first season, as the way it was glued to Grant Gustin's face gave him migraines while filming

This is why it looks slightly different after episode 9, and probably also a reason why they struggled with designing it in season 5

A crossover between Batwoman and Superman & Lois was cancelled due to the pandemic

Since then, Superman & Lois has been retconned to not take place in the Arrowverse at all

Despite adapting all of the classic Rogues members, with some of them even being adapted twice, the full team of Flash villains was never properly formed in 9 seasons

The Atom used his suit to grow gigantic for the first time in Legends of Tomorrow episode 13, which aired on April 28th 2016

This was, for some reason, timed to be a week before Ant-Man did the same thing in Captain America: Civil War, which released on May 6th 2016

In Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 15, Bodhi Sabongui plays a younger version of Behrad, who is a character based on Amon Tomaz/Osiris from the comics

In Black Adam, the same actor plays yet another adaptation of Amon Tomaz

Probably because his dad plays Captain Singh

The pilot episodes of The Flash and Supergirl both leaked online months in advance

It's assumed that because the leak generated a lot of hype for The Flash, CBS/WB "leaked" the Supergirl pilot on purpose in hopes that it would have the same effect (which it did)

Dominic Purcell announced his exit as Heatwave from Legends of Tomorrow through drunk edited Instagram posts, saying something about the character being emasculated over time and being screwed over by WB

Honestly it's still very confusing and unclear

After playing Sara Lance in tons of episodes from different Arrowverse shows over the years, Caity Lotz got the job of directing 4 episodes

Citing director Jordan Peele and actress Cassandra Peterson as her biggest inspirations, search "Caity Lotz Jordan Peterson" to learn more

Stephen Amell is a massive professional wrestling fan and attended an episode of WWE Raw, where he got in a scripted altercation with wrestler Cody Rhodes A.K.A. Stardust

Cody Rhodes later joined Arrow as the character Derek Sampson, a Stardust drug dealer

Accelerated Man first appeared in the third season of The Flash, a mysterious speedster with purple lightning played by Sean Poague

He had another short cameo in season 4, and then never appeared ever again

Through several unfortunate writing decisions, 8 named characters are listed as having held the mantle of Canary/Black Canary throughout the Arrowverse

This does not include the Canaries, a vigilante network established to exist in Arrow's bleak future timeline

Linda Park, Wally West's wife in the comics, is introduced as a reporter covering the particle accelerator explosion

She is then recast and introduced again as Barry Allen's new love interest, for some reason, and is revealed to be an adaptation of Doctor Light, for some reason

Magenta, Wally West's girlfriend in the comics, appears in one episode of The Flash season 3

She does not interact with Wally a single time despite them both being in the same episode, for some reason

Kimiyo Hoshi A.K.A. Doctor Light is a Justice League member in the comics, having been introduced during the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline to stop the Anti-Monitor

So of course, she is introduced in The Flash season 6, right after Crisis, as an assassin with a light gun

In the canon tie-in comic for the Arrowverse's adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths:

-Wally West is killed

-Felicity meets the Phantom Stranger and asks him to take her to Oa from Green Lantern (2011), where she immediately argues with the Guardians of the Universe

Robert DuBois A.K.A. Bloodsport appears as a terrorist in the first episode of Supergirl's third season, where he's hired by Morgan Edge to bomb National City using a submarine, fails, and is arrested

James Gunn's adaptation happened much later so this is only funny in hindsight

After many years of intense fan demand, Legends of Tomorrow finally introduced Booster Gold at the end of season 7, played by Donald Faison

He was added with the intention of drawing in more viewers to save the show from cancellation

It did not work

Weird Al Yankovic has two different Arrowverse wiki pages

Caitlin Snow is shown as an extremely intelligent character, having a PhD and two doctorates, being a trained scientist, neurosurgeon, bio-engineer, and was crucial in creating the particle accelerator

In the season 1 finale of The Flash, she asks what a singularity is

Jessica Parker Kennedy was cast as Nora West-Allen, Iris and Barry's daughter from the future, however she's actually older than both Grant Gustin and Candice Patton

She's also a decade older than Jordan Fisher, who plays her brother

She's 38

Despite being a classic Flash villain, the original Captain Boomerang spent more time fighting Green Arrow in this universe

His last appearance was in the Arrow season 5 finale, where he cornered Malcolm Merlyn who had stepped on a landmine, they both exploded

Arrow's 7th season adapted The Silencer as an antagonist, played by Miranda Edwards

This happened only 7 months after her first appearance in the comics, which I'm pretty sure is a record

The Arrowverse is now such an absurd time commitment to get into from scratch that you literally just had to be there

Stephen Amell's neighbor took a shit on his roof

The character of Allegra Garcia was introduced in The Flash season 6 as a new addition to the show's cast of regulars

This is because the new showrunner, Eric Wallace, created her in the comics 13 years ago

She's Mexican in the show, despite keeping her name Brazilian

Batwoman's costume was changed in season 1 because of Ruby Rose's neck injury that she sustained on set, which required emergency surgery

She was forced to return to set 10 days later, and later left the show entirely, citing a toxic work environment
