'The great dragon doesn't know how to tell his fox slave that he loves him.'

So, Hanguang-Jun is one of the most powerful dragons in his clan, but lives far away in his own home in the mountains.

He is respected and feared. It is known that there is no dragon fairer than him and there is nothing he hates more than slave traders bc slave traders kidnapped and killed his mother when he was a child

So how did he end up with a fox slave?

Well, actually it was... accidental?

A caravan was passing near his mountain one afternoon, and as soon as he heard it, he decided to make sure they weren't slave traders. Sometimes they used that route without knowing that they were close to his home, since he did not live within the Lan clan.

It didn't take long for him to get rid of the traffickers. The slave they were transporting was chained hand and foot and dirty. He was unable to make out his features under all the tousled hair and ruffled tails, but it was obvious he was a huli jing.

Foxes were powerful and elusive creatures, but they were also skilled at almost anything they set their minds to. There were ways to capture them and one of them was a magical enslavement seal.

Anyone with a slave seal was unable to disobey his captor or they would suffer -

-endless pain. The seal could still be undone since the fox was not sold, so there was no contractor.

Hanguang-Jun would release the fox and break the seal. He maybe he should take him home, heal him and feed him first, since he looked really bad.

He was so focused on the fox that he didn't realize one of the dealers got up and punched him in the chest.
The blow itself did nothing, but the dealer's maniacal grin as he decapitated him made him uneasy.

A strong heat surged from his chest and he opened his robe

The slave seal was on his chest, linking him as owner of the fox.

The slavery seal was illegal bc it was extremely powerful and there were no known ways to break it.

So now the fox's life was in Hanguang-Jun's hands, literally.

He had no choice but to take the unconscious fox in his arms. He smelled strongly of blood, he was probably badly hurt, so he was as careful as he could be. Then he would have to find some way to break the slavery contract.

The fox moaned in his arms, but didn't wake up. There was a subtle scent to him, beneath the scent of blood and dirt, a soft scent similar to a warm winter fire.

It was difficult to clean the fox while he was just dead weight, but he managed to give it a bath, respectfully avoiding looking too much, and tend to the wounds on its wrists and ankles

He had other minor injuries, but nothing as serious as the broken skin on his wrists

He probably tried to break free for a long time.

Clean and healed, Hanguang-Jun couldn't help but stare at the fox with his heart racing. His smell was now more penetrating and filled his house intently. The fox's beauty was worthy of his species

and he had to look away more than once to resist the urge to run his hands over his face.

He was a dragon, it was inevitable that he liked pretty things, but he had never felt so attracted to someone. The mix of beauty and heavenly smell made him feel dizzy and embarrassed.

He shouldn't be feeling such inappropriate emotions and sensations for someone who possibly went through hell.

He took it upon himself to watch the fox and give it his spiritual energy all night, avoiding touching too much or being too intimate.

He got up to make breakfast, making sure to do something healthy. He knew that foxes were omnivorous, so he put some meat on his plate seasoned with just a little salt.

He waited and waited for the fox to wake up and he started to worry when the sun got high

and the fox still didn't wake up. He told himself that it was normal, since the fox must be exhausted, but he started to panic thinking that maybe his injuries were even more serious than he thought.

However, the fox made a sound on the bed and snuggled deeper into the sheets as their tails wrapped around him. The sight was incredibly moving.

So he just stayed there, sitting, waiting for the fox to wake up, completely still. Should he check him now?

Should he write to his brother? Should he request scrolls from his family's library? How will he tell his Shufu that he owns a slave and has unintentionally committed a crime? Should he go out and find a way to break the contract? But leave the fox alone?

Shouldn't he explain the situation first?

His thoughts did not stop revolving in his head until the fox sitting on the bed startled him, but he did not show himself in his face.

The fox seemed disoriented as he looked at the sheets that covered him.

The fox looked around until his eyes met his and Hanguang-Jun genuinely stopped breathing. If he thought the unconscious fox was beautiful, now that he was awake and two eyes of liquid moonlight were looking at him...

The fox raised his ears and stared at him.

Then he opened his mouth and all he said was: "Wow"

Hanguang-Jun blinked. He had actually expected the fox to make a fuss after waking up in a stranger's house after being kidnapped and turned into a slave.

Instead, the fox pushed back the covers, slowly got up, and smiled at him "So you own me now, gege?"

The dragon blinked, genuinely confused, even though his face was expressionless.

The fox approached slowly, as if testing his balance, and knelt in front of him.

His heart pounded loudly in his chest as one of his slender hands brushed against his knee.

"At least my owner is the most beautiful creature I've ever seen" The fox had to be exerting some kind of power over him

because the tone of voice he used and the way he moved was very... seductive " What can I do for my master?"

Hanguang-Jun jumped out of his seat, ears burning and breathing hard.

The fox was surprised by the jump and cowered in on itself as his ears lowered.

The fox kept his eyes down and there was a slight trembling on his shoulders, as if he was expecting a punishment.

Hanguang-Jun clenched his hands and took a deep breath. "I think there is a misunderstanding"

He tried to grab him by the shoulders to help him stand up, but the fox tensed and squeezed his eyes shut. The dragon realized that the fox was expecting a hit.

Pulling his hand away, the dragon took a step back "Please get up"

The fox raised his silver gaze in confusion but did as he was silently asked.

Hanguang-Jun sighed "I don't own you"

The fox looked at him "Huh? But the slave mark..."

"It was an accident" The dragon replied "You are free"

The fox looked at him suspiciously, but then he smiled "I see" he said "If my master wants that, then I'm free"

Hanguang-Jun frowned, feeling that the misunderstanding had not been cleared. The fox's smile felt forced. He opened his mouth to explain but the words didn't come out of his mouth.

Then abruptly he said "Food"

The fox raised his ears "Oh, yes, of course. Where is the kitchen? What does the master like? I'll prepare whatever he wants" he exclaimed with a happiness that felt feigned.

Huanguang-Jun said "No"

"N-no?"

"Not food, not for me... I mean, for you" he gestured to the table, where the breakfast was still warm thanks to a talisman.

The fox stared at the table, as if he was trying to figure out the trap behind it all. He cautiously eyed the dragon. "For me?"

The dragon nodded curtly, trying to say that the fox needed to eat to recover from its injuries, but he just said "Too skinny."

The fox under his ears and Hanguang-Jun's heart felt aching"Oh yeah... I guess." He swallowed

and sat down slowly at the table, glancing at the dragon from time to time, as if he expected his food to be taken away.

After a considerable time, the fox took the chopsticks and began to eat.

Slowly at first, very tentatively, but when he realized that his food was not going to be taken away, he devoured it like a starving man.

Hanguang-Jun was afraid that she would choke because of how fast he ate

He brought him a bowl of water just in time, the fox snatched it from him and drank, giving a heavy sigh.

When he finished eating, he gave a satisfied sigh. "Thank you, it was delicious, although it was a bit lacking in spice," he said,

but then stopped and wagged his tails anxiously "I mean..."

However, Hanguang-Jun nodded "Next time I'll add more spices"

The fox looked at him surprised for a moment but he didn't say anything else.

The fox was hanging around the house with Hanguang-Jun's permission during the day. He seemed eager to do something. He would startle if the dragon got up to do something and more than once, he had to ask the fox not to kneel on the ground like a servant.

The fox didn't seem to believe him when he tried to explain that he was a free fox, nor when Hanguang-Jun said that he would try to break the contract. Instead, he would smile slightly and make soft comments, but underneath it all

there seemed to be a pent-up energy that the fox was struggling not to release

He also learned that he and the fox could not be apart or the slave mark would cause him pain.

He found out when he went hunting and found the fox sweating and shaking in pain on the ground as he held his chest.

Although it was accidental, the fox seemed to think that it was intentional no matter when Hanguang-Jun tried to explain himself.

"Why didn't you tell me that being apart would hurt you?"

The fox smiled "The master must know. I only follow the master's wishes"

The dragon was furious with itself. He didn't know how the slave contract worked, but the fox didn't believe him.

He did not know how to explain, the words did not come out of his mouth.

With a sigh, he said "Tomorrow we will go to Gusu"

The fox only nodded submissively.

His family ancestral library must have something related to slavery contracts, he would find a way to free that beautiful fox. And ask his brother for help to try to explain the situation to the fox.

He was always bad at communicating with others. The only one who could understand him without words was his older brother, Lan Xichen. Hanguang-Jun hoped that his brother could convey his words to the fox.

And maybe he will discover what to do with that strong attraction he felt for the fox that sometimes wouldn't let him sleep at night.

He and the fox had shared a bed for the last few days.

On several occasions, the fox seemed to wait for Hanguang-Jun to do something and he waited tensely lying on the sheets, but he eventually relaxed and fell asleep.

Then the dragon would wake up surrounded by fluffy tails and a fox wrapped like a koala around him. It took a long time to calm down to get the fox off of him.

Luckily, the fox slept late so he had enough time to calm his body and his mind...

He sent a spiritual message to his brother informing him of his visit and dedicated to renewing the protections of his house for the time that they would last outside.
Hanguang-Jun wasn't sure how long it would take to search for any clues that might help him to find-

-a way to break the seal, so he was especially meticulous.

There have already been outsiders who have found his home before when he hunted outside and many didn't care that his dragon essence was all over the place.

He noticed how the fox was staring at the talismans he was using, as if he were studying them.

“Do you like talismans?” He asked slowly to avoid scaring the fox.

It was in vain, the fox got scared and shrank back. "N-No, I just thought the designs are pretty"

Hanguang-Jun suppressed a sigh and didn't say anything else, but he still saw out of the corner of his eye how the fox was looking intently at the talismans on the table when he thought he wasn't looking.

When he left the house to put talismans outside, he saw through the window how the fox leaned over the table where he had some scrolls and with one finger he opened it and read its contents. His ears were pricked, perhaps to hear him come in and pretend he wasn't reading

Those scrolls were complicated studies, but the fox was engrossed. Hanguang-Jun was silent, watching as the fox lost his fear and took the scroll to continue reading.

He stayed outside for a while, letting the fox enjoy reading, until it was time for dinner and he inevitably had to go inside to prepare it. He was deliberately loud and when he entered, the fox was sitting at the window, looking outside and the scroll was closed on the table

It was obvious that he had been tampered with, and the fox was visibly tense, so he just walked to the kitchen and began to take out things to prepare dinner in silence.

He noticed the fox walking around the house, wagging his tail curiously and noticed how he opened his mouth to say something and closed it again. He suspected that he withheld questions and opinions for fear of upsetting him, that was something they would have to deal with later.

That night they ate in silence. The fox was the first to go to bed, but to his surprise, he felt it fidget.

"Stop moving and go to sleep," the dragon said perhaps too abruptly, causing the fox to freeze.

"I-I'm sorry," he replied in a whisper.

Sighing, Hanguang-Jun asked “What is it?”

The fox remained silent for a moment and then replied "It's just that I'm a little excited to go to Gusu" he heard himself swallowing in the silence of the room "I always wanted to go there"

Hanguang-Jun didn't expect that, but then nodded "Then try to sleep, we'll leave at dawn"

The fox nodded, but it was obvious to the dragon that he didn't fall asleep until much later.

The next morning, he woke up with a fox wrapped around him as in the previous days. After preparing and meditating, he tried to wake up the fox more than once, but he muttered against the sheets and asked for five more minutes.

The dragon, weak against the fox, let him sleep.

It wasn't until the sun was up that the fox woke up with a jump out of bed and said "IT'S LATE"

He saw the dragon quietly drinking tea at the table.

For a moment, the fox was puzzled.

Once again, the fox took the dragon by surprise as he fell to the ground trembling in a deep bow.

“This one apologizes for falling asleep! I deserve to be punished!"

The dragon broke the cup with his hand and stared at the fox.

Although in the few days they had been together, it was obvious that the fox was holding back out of fear, the genuine fear he felt from being hit led him to wonder what those bastards had done to him.

He tried to control his fury, a fury that burned deep within him. He would never have thought of slowly killing someone, but now he thought those bastards who captured him had suffered little.

He took a breath and exhaled gently, calming his emotions. Feeling angry would only create misunderstandings and it caused him physical discomfort to see the fox so scared.

“Get up,” He said, regulating his voice

“There is nothing to punish. You were tired and you got the sleep you needed. Now get ready, we will leave in twenty minutes”

And he left the house without saying anything to give him privacy.

He looked up at the sky, wondering why he was reacting so much.

Yes, he hated injustices, he hated those who took advantage of others, but he was sure that he would not have felt as much anger as he did now. Hanguang-Jun has always been very logical in his actions and knows that his instincts are running wild.

A fury he's never felt before churned in his chest.

Something was causing this, something that he had to do with the fox. His scent, his touch, his eyes, his voice, all made his body burn with a desire he had never felt before.

Was he taking the fox as a treasure?

Many years ago he had stopped taking treasures, which were usually trinkets, books, or some beautifully sparkling jewel. He had never taken a living being as treasure, but he knew that dragons were capable of taking creatures as treasure.

He couldn't think about it anymore when the voice of the fox called him from the door: "Master, I'm ready."

Hanguang-Jun looked at him and then looked away. He needs to talk to his brother.

The trip to Gusu was swift and silent. The fox clung tightly to his mane as he rode his back. He could feel him shaking and even she can imagine him with his eyes squeezed shut

When they arrived at the gates of CR, -

his brother, Lan Xichen, known as Zewu-Jun was already waiting for him.

The fox squeaked as the wind picked him up and put him on the ground as the dragon took on his demi-human form again. The fox clung to the ground, breathing heavily, and the dragon looked at him worriedly.

"WangJi" His brother greeted with a smile "What a joy to have you visit. And with a friend, too"

Hanguang-Jun, WangJi, nodded “Brother, It's good to see you”

The fox stood up shakily, and the dragon had to catch his elbow as he stumbled. The fox tensed, but didn't move, looking nervously at both dragons

"Aren't you going to introduce us?"

“Oh, I am the slave…” Suddenly, the fox couldn't speak and muffled muttering came out of his mouth.

“WangJi?” Lxc looked at his younger brother in surprise. Hanguang-Jun's ears were red.

"I'll explain it to you later"

Lxc smiled and nodded "Then let's go this way. Do you want me to call uncle?"

"No" he answered quickly. Lxc raised an eyebrow but didn't comment.

Lxc led them to the Hanshi while each Lan dragon that came across, bowed to both brothers and looked with respect and admiration at HGJ, but few noticed the fox that walked shrunken and with his head down behind him.

When they got to the Hanshi, both dragons were slow to notice that the fox had stayed at the door, waiting.

"What are you doing?" Hgj asked. The poor fox was startled and lowered his ears.

"Uhm, I, I have to stay outside" The fox replied.

Hgj blinked and looked at his brother with a slight panic. Lxc seemed to want to laugh and at the same time felt sorry for the fox "It's okay, you can come in"

The fox looked at both dragons and then went inside, sitting behind Hgj in silence.

Hgj frowned, wanting the fox to sit next to him, but he wasn't sure he could convey his words correctly. Well, that's what they were there for.

"In your letter you said that you had something important to consult with me, WangJi" Lxc began while serving the tea

Although there were three cups, the fox did not come to take one. "Do you want to talk about it now?"
Lxc knew that his brother did not like to beat around the bush

Hgj took a sip of his tea and took a deep breath “I have a problem”
Lxc waited patiently

"The fox bonded with me"

Hearing Hgj, the fox raised its ears and shuddered.

Lxc raised his eyebrows in surprise “WangJi, did you mate?” He asked delightedly, but then frowned slightly "However, you say it like it's a bad thing, what's wrong?"

"Not that kind of bond, brother" Hgj's ears turned red "A few days ago, slave traders passed near my home and this fox was with them... So I... they..."

Hgj made a low sound and then sighed, but Lxc's eyes lit up knowingly “I see”

he took a sip of his tea “The fox is now a slave bonded to you. But, WangJi, don't you think you should tell me his name first?"

Hgj stared at his brother for a long moment.

"WangJi... Could it be that you don't know his name?"

Hgj looked down in embarrassment. He knows internally that he didn't ask the fox's name because he feared that the sensations he was feeling would intensify.

Lxc sighed and turned to the fox "Young man, can you tell me your name?"

The fox was startled and looked timidly at Hgj and then at Lxc "this one has no name"

"Don't you have a name?"

"My master has not named me, so I have no name"

Lxc fell silent as he exchanged glances with Hgj, who was squeezing the teacup hard enough to break it.

Fortunately, the dragon tea sets were spellbound to resist.

Lxc asked nicely “Okay, so can you tell me the name your parents gave you? Before you were a slave"

The fox lowered her gaze and pursed her lips. "Wei Ying, courtesy Wuxian."

Lxc smiled “Okay, young master Wei”

Wwx was startled and trembled "I-I'm not a young master, please don't call me that"

Hgj wanted to reach out his hand and take the fox's hand, which he now knew was called Wei Wuxian

but he couldn't muster the courage and said to his brother: "I need access to the restricted section of the library."

Lxc “why?”

"I need to find a way to break the slave bond"

Wwx jerked his head up and looked at the dragon he had shared space with for the past few days. Was this dragon serious when he told him that he was free? Or did he plan to hand it over to another?

Lxc nodded “I see. Do you want to release him?"

Hgj nodded without noticing Wwx's dazed look.

Lxc smiled “Okay, I grant you permission, but you should tell uncle about this and say hello, he won't be happy if you are here and don't even visit him”

Hgj flinched slightly but nodded. "I'll talk to uncle later, I'll visit the library first."

“As you wish” Lxc wrote something on a talisman and handed it to Lwj “this is a special permission. The barrier will let you in, but young Wei must wait outside."

Lwj "he must come with me" he said "he will be hurt if he separates from me"

Lxc tilted his head "What do you mean?"

“If I am too far from him, he will suffer”

Lxc looked at Wwx "Is that true?"

Wwx nodded without saying anything, his mind was confused.

"Is it because of the seal?"

"It seems so" Hgj replied "So he should come with me"

"I have never heard of a slave contract that prevented the slave from being away from his master" Lxc murmured "Can I see the mark?"

Hgj untied his robe while Wwx looked away with a flushed face. Lxc looked at the mark on his brother's chest and frowned "This is not a normal slavery mark" he said."It has traces that I had not seen before"

Hgj looked at the mark on his chest "Maybe because I'm the contractor?"

Lxc denied “No. Do you remember the scandal of Jin Guangshang for putting a slave mark on one of his illegitimate children? I've seen the master and slave markings. The mark of slavery should not harm the slave unless he disobeys. This is a modified mark”

Lxc looked at the fox, “Young Wei, can you show me your slavery mark?”

Wwx nodded and untied his robe, revealing his chest. Both dragons gave sharp breaths and Hgj grabbed the fox's wrist roughly, staring at his chest in a daze.

The slavery mark was not like the one he had seen when he was healing him. It was darker now, almost black, and branched down his chest, covering his ribs and a little lower. The mark throbbed and moved like snakes.

That wasn't a slavery mark

"It's a curse"

"A curse?" whispered the fox. With a nimble movement, he freed himself from Lwj's grasp and grabbed his wrist, hard. “Are you sure? Isn't that a slavery mark?"

Lxc says softly “It's a mark, but not a ordinaty mark, it's meant to torture you. You should be able to live normally, doing tasks assigned to you. Has there been any reaction other than hurting you when WangJi is away?”

Wwx pursed his lips. "No but...my core"

Lwj looked at him. "Core?"

Wwx under the gaze "They sealed my golden core"

Lxc gently extended his hand "May I?"

Wwx showed his wrist in silence. Lxc's expression became more and more complicated.

"Who did this to you?"

Wwx lowered his ears and was unable to look at the dragons "Someone who wanted me out of their life"

"This was not because of someone who did not want you in his life" Said lxc "The person who did this to you, did they hate you?"

Pressing his hands against his robe, wwx nodded slowly. Lxc and Lwj exchanged glances.

“Maybe there's something in the library” Lwj began slowly “It's not a common mark, it's mixed with a curse. His core was sealed so that the mark would be more effective"

"Usually this is used on non-cultivators or creatures that haven't cultivated, maybe we can find something.”

Wwx swallowed hard and didn't let hope fill him. He had no illusions.

He wasn't sure if the dragons were sincere or not, but he couldn't help the dry laugh and tears that began to fall down his cheeks.

He choked out, "I knew she didn't like it, I was ready to leave when I came of age, but I didn't think her hated for me to be so…"
